Forums - Sales Discussion - Can the Wii reach 1m units sold again on 5th. Jan. week?!!

Others sales are up and seem pretty.... high. For this time of year, anyway, as the holidays are completely over near enough everywhere. In his Japan preview, The Source said Wii could be as high as 300k in Japan. This could leave Americas as "only" needing to shift 360k Wiis if this is the case, to reach the magic figure. Am pretty sure reaching figures like that, this time of year is unprecedented. Can this happen, or am i just being greedy? Figures i'm stating are: week ending Jan 5th. Thoughts?

It'll be very close. I predict 1,000,000 plus once numbers are released. Then an adjustment down to barely below 1.000,000. I'm looking at you PS3!!!

My prediction heavily relies on TheSource's Preview of course. Don't forget that many people are still spending their Christmas cash and gift cards after Christmas in the US.

Sorry. Do mean Jan 2nd. Am typing this on Wii browser and not very easy! Would be extremely ironic if Wii reached 1m, only to be adjusted down, like what happened to PS3. I must admit, though, before i saw the Others' numbers, i didn't think Wii had a hope of another 1m week!

It would mean a YoY increase of nearly 400,000 units, 60%
