I will be extremely pissed off at NOA if they pull a Fatal Frame IV and don't localize this game.

Fatal Frame IV was different. There were game-breaking bugs in there that no-one wanted to take responsibility for

Basically, Fatal Frame IV's story went thus:
Nintendo: There are game-breaking bugs in here, fix them plz.
Tecmo: No u.
Nintendo: No u.
Grasshopper: Hai guyz! Did you see those bugs? roflmao
Nintendo: ahh fuck it.

A different story from the other games that got passed over.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Ah, wasn't aware of the bugs. Probably for the best then. I guess it's safe to say it's likely this game will be released in the states then, as long as there are no bugs.

If this game does make it to America, it won't be promoted at all. The cost to localize it may be all they are willing to support it with.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

If it's a good game and it does decently in Japan, it will be localized.

So far I have not seen very serious conclusive indications for either one.

@ Ryudo and Soriku
I'm aware of EDF, and I'm not saying this IS on-rails, but you didn't draw lines in wich to shoot on EDF, did you?

Even if it's the same developer and a similar overall game, nothing stops them from doing it differently since the input mechanism itself is so different. I don't know, looking at the trailer, it does kind of look like on-rails. But, again, I'm not saying it is, just that I don't see how that possibility could be dissmissed. If there's any more actual information, than well, I'm probably not aware of that.

God, I hope so.

If Nintendo doesn't bring it themselves, I hope they finally open up and let interested 3rd parties pick up their passed over stuff like Tackt of Magic, Disaster, Soma Bringer, ASH, Jet Impusle, etc. They used to let Atlus USA publish their unwanted imports (Cubivore, Polarium Advance), I'm not sure what changed this gen?

edit: Forgot to mention it, but being Motion Plus compatible likely greatly improves Reginliev's chances of being brought over.  I imagine NOA and NOE are pretty hungry for M+ games to help feed the peripheral's fast growing audience, and the only other games on the table are Spawn Smasher and Zelda, which are both probably a ways off...
