Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Microsoft criticized for copying a non existant product...

Okay, fanboys can get annoying, we all know that. And the funny thing is, all of us are fanboys in certain ways. But things are getting out of control right now.

I just read some comments at the worst but biggest German Newspaper "Bild". They were reporting about the new Tablet PC made by HP and MS. People are claiming MS copied Apple with the HP Tablet PC. First of all, the tablet PC is made by HP and many other different manufacturers. MS just provides the software. One thing people did not get.

The second point is that the Tablet PC made by Apple isn't even available yet. It is just a rumor. People are saying MS copied the Apple Tablet that is just a rumor. Think about it. MS is FIRST with this device, Apple is second and people try to convince other people that the first copied the second. I do not get this at all.

I am a MS fan, but at the same time, I am a Sony Vaio fan, so I would pick up a Vaio over a Tablet PC any time. So this Tablet PC thing doesn't affect me that much, but this broken logic made me post this.

*edit* here is the link for thos of you, who speak German.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Tablet PC?

I don't know what that is but it sounds like a chocolate.

Tablet PCs (laptops with a touchscreen that can flip around so it's like a tablet) have been around for years.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I think the correct thing to call them are Slates.

The biggest German newspaper is called "Picture"? Very creative. . .

It's really hip to rip MS, everyone does it, why not "Picture" too?

Actually Apple did come up with one of the first tablet pcs, it was from the 80s. It was called the Newton, and had a dot matrix screen and a stylus

Yeah bloody lawsuits..

I invented a teleporter and a light speed drive in my garage. I was going to market them as a solution to transgalactic exploration of the universe, but Apple served me with a cease and desist notice.

Wankers.

95% of the newspaper consists of pictures, so I'd say it's a fitting name.

How do you say "Short Attention Span" in German? They could change it to that. . . Kurtz. . . uh something. . .

Well people probably don't mean that they copied it directly because that'd be impossible. What they probably mean is that Microsoft, knowing that Apple are working on a new tablet, decided to unveil there own at CES which is exactly what they did and that's business. Nothing wrong with it.
