hmmm........

Wii- 19,000,000
PS3- 13,000,00
360- 11,000,00

Omg, I didn't read you post until just now, I realise it was the exact same thing I predicted lol...

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

lol, people are funny, from 22 million in 2009 to 17 and 14 million in 2010, lol

Not to be rude but the predictions in your sig kind of makes me see this post in a strange light. The Wii was guaranteed to sell past 45 million in 2008, it was also guaranteed to exceed 50% marketshare by the same time and was for certain going to move more than 75 million by 2009, 70 million at the very and extremely implausible least. Anyone daring to suggest below 70 million were blind fanboys and deranged fools only. I myself remember laughing at Crazzyman or some such claiming 62 million or some such by end of 2009. Turns out he was closer than all of us.

Don't be too sure. It did drop yoy in 2009, quite a lot in the last quarter and claiming other feats it is guaranteed to achieve may prove hasty yet again. We don't know but my guess is as good as yours (if not better going by the past).

PS: Where's John Lucas? All his predictions have failed more spectacularly than anybody else's, I'd think he'd want to comment on that some time.

Its funny how people predict without researching. Screw the NSMBW selling 30 million thread. I'mn keeping this til the end of 2010
Though I think its like this
Wii-23 million
360-9.5-9.7 million(I'm predicting it'll be short on the 10 million target. Though I'll change estimates if there is a price cut)
Ps3-14 million(This year would be its peak than go down as new consoles come out in 2011-2012)

Nope yours are far worse going by the past, that's why I laughed at you, go look at the PS2 sales, year to year, and compare to Wii which has constantly tracked higher, and tell me if PS2 ever dropped from almost 22 million to 17 million, lol

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

What about Crazzyman's, MikeB's, Rock_On's or even leo-j's predictions which have been just as ridiculous as John Lucas sales predictions? It seems no one  can accurately predict sales. The VGChartz site owners do a good job because they have up to date sources to keep track of the weekly sales. But they would struggle to accurately predict sales numbers months or even years in advance due to  uncertain events and forever changing variables in making long term predictions.

No one can accurately predict the future.

Let's assume that 2010 total sales numbers of the big three will be roughly the same as 2009 total sales numbers. Could be a little higher or lower. Time will reveal all.

The PS2 is not the Wii and certainly did not drop yoy in its 3rd year on the market at a higher price. And how are mine far worse? Do elaborate.

Edit; numonex; no one's predictions are as ridiculous as JL's. Trust me. Have you seen them? He got one right though, the Wii would sell well.

Avinash it will soon be time to update your sig again. End of 2009 Wii ltd sales tally was only around 65 million according to VGC numbers. Your sales prediction was 15 million off the mark.
BTW: Very small font in your sig- I need a magnifying glass to read it.

Actually Wii launched in 2006, making 2009 its fourth year, and PS2 also dropped in its fourth year, 2003 it dropped from 21 million in 2002 to 19 million in 2003. And again, why would Wii drop so far when PS2 never did, lol So yeah your predictions are pretty bad, just going off history

I'll update when final data is accounted for, probably when the fiscal numbers come in

It would drop because it already did during and before the holidays despite Nintendo's best efforts to maintain momentum and a killer app bigger than anything the competition had to offer. "Just going off history." is a nice little thing to say, you must remember them in detail then since you know how stupid they were/are (my current ones are probably bonkers as well) so why not dish out at least one to show how flawed it is/was? Are all of them crap? I sincerely want to know.

Edit; your response to numonex; I kinda doubt that the fiscal numbers will yield an extra 15 million Wii's to be honest.
