By God, is this what Vgchartz is coming to?

Look, I'm someone who is not a big fan of Natal. I'm more excited for Sony's motion controller, and I think its potential effect on the market has been exaggerated heavily. Yet at the same time, some of you are being absolutely pathetic. Is this the kind of trolling people can get away with these days? This thread is terrible. Not because of a bad subject, not because it was poorly made, but just because of the people posting in it. No wonder the community has gone downhill. Why aren't the Natal fans, who just want to have a discussion on a piece of technology in peace, reporting these people? I'll do it, but I'm disappointed in so many of you.

Anywho, I think Natal could end up being a really great product, but I don't think it will be changing the world anytime soon. I see it being used as a peripheral for casual games over Xbox Live (which are a pretty big market), and expanding into bigger games. I'm excited to see what happens.

I get fed up of reporting people and nothing ever gets done Montana, Ronster got banned for trolling recently for saying there hadn't been a decent Resident Evil game since RE4.  That was his opinion and he wasn't offensive in the slightest yet a mod banned him with complete disregard, then they allow a huge number of users (always the same faces) on this site to continually troll Natal which is against forum rules with no bans handed out.  If its not the clever trolls who get away with it then there is always a number of alt/new accounts in Microsoft threads trolling, it really isn't worth posting anything as a 360 gamer on this site.

On the first page alone we have someone stating 3D is the next big thing and Natal cannot be a success till 2025 and 3D is the next big thing, I don't see how a feature that requires users to spend over a thousand dollars can be compared to one that is likely to retail for less than one hundred dollars.  3D may well be a success in the future but not in 2010 and certainly not until its a standard feature on nearly all TV's.

Heres a clue people, if you don't like Natal then don't bother entering a thread and stirring up trouble.  It's not hard to ignore threads, just don't click on them.

I can predict the future by using business strategy, read Christensen, of the Harvard business school, and you'll understand.

No the reason people hate is because a product is supposed to satisfy the need for a job to be fulfilled, when it doesn't thats when people point out its flaws

What are the needs of gaming?  What need did Wii Fit provide the satisfaction to?

People who don;t want a game that takes too much time out of their life, but can help them be a bit active, these gamers don't want to be immersed in a game world, they want something that will work within their lives

Those sound like wants, not needs.

a definition of want is to be in need of something, so it can be one in the same

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

And you predicted it Avin I bet? That motion control instead of a joypad would save Ninty? I'm sure you unlike many others who work and have deeper expert knowledge of the market foresaw it being a success.

Got to love hindsight.

Well of course I saw it as a success, however at the time my viewing their actions as a success had less to do with an understanding of their strategy, and more because I am a Nintendo fan

This website is becoming more and more like SDF then a reputable website is what irritates me. The things that people can say especially against anything MS and get away with it is really pathetic hence the reason the community hasn't seen any growth

I am going to disagree and say that your definition fits firmly in the economical want category.  No one knew they wanted a Wii Fit until the Wii Fit was created.  There was never a need for people to be able to stand on a board and interact with a television set.

makes me laugh how big 36o fans are making Natal out to be...

CES was ALL about 3D...not Natal....

Great a playstation gamer making fun of people who like a product of MS. How original. Natal has been one of the hottest topics of CES2010. Go do your damage control somewhere else

What's with all the bashing of this product? It's definitely got some push behind it. Even if it doesn't "set the world on fire" (to some people at least), how about we give it a shot before stamping the word "flop" on it.

I, for one, would love to see this concept take off, even if it doesn't become the next Wii-like phenomenon.

It's because Sony didn't come up with it and have a rival coming out to Natal.

It's also because Nintendo has something in a similar vein that no-one else can have anything similar. Even though the wiimote wasn't the first out there.

It's the insecure rival owners hating it that would be loving it if it was on their machine.

No, since it wouldn't be the same if Nintendo was trying to implement it, the problem with incumbents trying to put out an innovation is they try and rework it until its most profitable to their already existing core customer, and the thing is, even MS admits that its going to try and use NATAL to target the core, this is the problem with NATAL

So you work at MS where you know that the games being released are only targeted to the core. That explains all those ads where it shows families using Natal..no wait it doesnt. Unless you have a link where MS admits that you are flamebaiting

I personally will get it just to be able to browse my movie library and the nxe without having to put my drink down!

 WII Code: 1732 3363 1704 6441

I'm starting to think the HD motion controls (Natal specially) could be big hits if marketed properly. The ammount of hype (and hate) Natal is getting is insane, above Wii hype back in 2006.

not sure if anyone knows who ms is trying to target with Natal. No one has seen enough yet to know for sure.

I know many people will argue Burnout, but lets face it; Burnout with Natal was lacking the boost button and the explosion button, direction button when u blow ur car up for the after touch, rearview mirror button.

What it did show is however, it is possible to do racing games. Burnout was a decent tech demo.

As for saying it is aimed at the core... well the core Wii audience are the casuals, meaning the core 360 and ps3 audience may be the hardcore. Depends in which context you apply the term "core" it can be transelated differently i suppose.
