it would be EA's lost if they kick out one of the most legendary golf player alive today.

As soon as he wins another championship and another celebrity "scandal" surfaces, no one will remember this. And it's not like he did anything illegal. The only people that should be pissed off is his family.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

there are plenty of people to replace him, and yes his personal life matters. He is a celebrity. He is presented as a role model for young children. Which is rather horrible.

He didn't ask for that though. He can't live his life based on what other people THINK he should do. Nobody is justifying his actions, but many humans walk this Earth able to escape from things they did that were far worse than adultery. Why shouldn't Tiger be able to continue to live and make money?

yes he did.  He asked for it when he signed 900 million dollars in sponsorship deals, 9 times more money then he made by actually playing golf.  The sponsorships are buying him for his image, not for what he does in golf (although i know the 2 have a lot to do with each other).  If even a tiny percentage of people stop buying something because of tiger woods image being tarnished then it is costing the company money, people may start losing their jobs.  If he wanted to be recognized as a golfer, he should just play golf and not sign 900 million dollars in sponsorship deals.  The PGA tour is never gonna drop tiger even if his image becomes tarnished, but sponsors will, and they have every right to.

Agree to disagree.

I don't care how many sponsors, deals, rewards he got. He wouldn't have gottne those without a being a damn good athlete first.

tigers image is why he gets these sponsorship deals.  That is exactly the reason they signed him.  If tiger's image effects the cash flow of the companies then sponsor have to do what is neccessary.  That is business, it's how it works.  Businesses don't run because they want to make a social point about how we should not put our noses in other peoples business.

He plays golf. He's a good golf player. He should be judged by what he does on the golf course, not what he does on his private time. I hate the media and press and people in general for looking down on celebrities like this. He is a human being that enjoyed/enjoyes to play golf, therefor he became a golf player. but most important, he is a human being like us all. if we want him to pay taxes and live by the same laws as us "normal" he is also allowed to do the same mistakes as us with no further consequences! GO TIGER WOODS, fuck the people that stick their noses up in your private life. but of course, sponsors should be allowed to cancel their deals if they feel that TW does not represent the same values (or whatever) that he used to. But i have 10000000000 times more respect for EA for sticking with him than the ones that just drop him... the sponsors then show their real faces, they give a shit about the sport they are indirectly sponsoring...

i agree 100%, but this is a very very naive view of a perfect world.  EA did not make the decision because they give a shit about the sport they were sponsoring, they are in it for the money like everyone else.  They sat down and decided that it was more beneficial for themselves to keep tiger, not because they hold some kind of ideals.

The media should not poke into other people's business, i agree 100%.  Far too many people do, and there are far too many religious nuts and crazy people out there who will never look at the man the same again.  It's sad that this is the kind of world we live in, but like i have said it is a reality and businesses have to make decisions based on money not ideals.

Yes, I understand why EA keeps the deal. It's out of money interest, but still,I respect their choice much more than the ones just dropping him =P But EA being in it for the money is so obvious that I didn't even feel that I have to mention it =D

they guy cheated....so have millions of other celebrities and and normal people alike. Who gives a shit what he does in the bedroom, it's not like he went OJ on us.

Good decision by EA. I hate people thinking sport stars should be a role model for anyone, they're not. They're humans that are good at what they do, and it happens to be that what they do gives them money and publicity. John Doe cheats on his wife, he gets a divorce and the only people to ever know are the family and friends. Tiger Woods cheats on his wife and everyone is horrified. I mean, come on, what the fuck do you care what Tiger does in his private life? This is why I hate when star's personal lives get press, who cares who's dating who and who's cheating on who.

And I agree what someone said in this thread, it's not like EA had much choice, I mean, who else is known worldwide in golf other than Tiger? Absolutely no one

FEAR MY PAINT SKILLS !
