Maybe it's just the holiday. Maybe the game will hold some legs!
Since it was released in a smaller userbase it will move systems a little longer, since many people interested in this game don't own a ps3 yet. What worries me is just the used game market in Japan, it really can hurt any legs of the game.
Anyway, since DQIX was able to hold legs for six months i don't doubt anything!
Could be holiday. Let's wait for final numbers cause the Japan preview is based on only one store and can therefore be off at times (in both ways, ie higher or lower).
I was suprised if fell as much as it did last week as it was the holidays but this week is the biggest Japan week of the year so maybe Source is right and the hold will be impressive.
Elaine: I will never understand people
Jerry: They're the worst.

According to vgchartz (not that I trust vgchartz) it also sold significantly less than both of those games during the first two weeks. And they came out in July and March, respectively. So if the estimate is at all accurate then I would attribute it to holiday wheelings and dealings more so than a genuine shift in Final Fantasy sales patterns.
I think one reason is holiday period and don 't forget this is the smaller userbase a main ff has debuted so it is an achievement

This thread is terribly premature. Those 3rd week figures aren't sales figures, they're preview estimates so you shouldn't be representing them as confirmed figures.
If FFXIII manages to hit those figures for the 3rd week it will be a very respectful week for the title, but you're building yourself up for a great disappointment with this.
