Forums - Gaming Discussion - How many controllers have you broken?

Several original Xbox controllers, and the X button on one of my 360 controllers clicks and the RB on my other clicks. Which is like incredibly annoying.

If the buttons start to get sticky, your best bet is to take the controller apart, clean off the buttons and soft carbon contacts and then reassemble them.

Did that all the time with my old controllers and most of them worked like new after. About the only thing it won't fix is a worn out/loose analog stick.

Only problem with the 360 controller is that they use security torx head screws requiring a special set of hex key bits.

Have only worn out a couple. Breaking a controller out of anger is like throwing your money away.

At $40+ a pop, exactly.

But people who get "gamer rage" aren't exactly thinking rationally when they act. They should probably have a heavy bag hanging next to the entertainment center so they can break their wrists and/or hands instead. Well, maybe not.

A genesis controller of mine broke from natural wear and tear about 16 years ago. I've never really grasped the concept of getting mad and breaking your controllers. If you break your controller, you can't play games. If you're a gamer, I'd think you'd want to play games.

playing games > not playing games... imo at least.

I didn't exactly break my n64 controller but I did break my rumble pak. I was mad that I lost in a game so I threw the controller against the wall and the rumble pak broke.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

I broke the vibration motor on my PS2 controller.

I never broke one out of anger. I did, however, wear out a couple of N64 controller analog sticks.
