Seems the information was unveiled on 4 Guys1up, though it was only mentioned in passing.

The pros are that keeping it small will keep it simple, minimize the story filler.

The cons include a low likelihood of being a WiiWare game (they only mentioned PSN and XBLA, though they didn't confirm or deny anything, i'll stress), as well as the game being smaller than it could have been, as well as not being able to really restore Sonic to greater prominence

Leaving WiiWare out of the picture is stupid. Very stupid.


Anyway, please make this Sonic the Hedgehog 4.

damn.... I wanted SONIC's comeback to be bigger :(

I guess that means animated cut-scenes(if any at all) are out of the question.

That is fantastic news. That's the only way they won't add some incredibly lame gimmick IE werehog, or sword, or big the cat or some stupid shit. By keeping it small there is actually a chance they will make the kind of sonic game people have been wanting for the past decade. One where sonic runs really fast, doesn't talk, and doesn't have some lame ass story with a bunch of stuffed animal friends. This COULD be good (famous words spoken about every single sonic game in the past 10 years)
