I am not surprised Kojima has said before he loves FPS's and isn't that's why he in included it in MGS4.

lately, all the games that have left ps3 exclusivity have been critical failures. Well, maybe that is due to angry ps3 fans, but so far both tekken and ff13 have been critically thrashed. |
Tekken has been critically trashed because it looks and feels dated. It going multiplat probably didn't help it's sales either.
FFXIII Im looking towards the big publications and so far it's a stellar thing. I wonder though? Is the PS3 starting to gain enough ground that any games that make the jump to multiplat suffer because of it? From Tekken it seems that it should have probably just stayed an exclusive and We have to wait for Final Fantasy's sales but if The 360 has shown anything its that the JRPG fanbase on it is rather limited.
I don't know, but I think it would be interesting to see where the next iteration for these franchises last. For MGS: Rising my guess is that its going to be an MGS2: Substance situation again, where the sales of the game aren't what Konami and Microsoft expected and the next game in the series returns to the PS platform.
I mean I think it's safe to say until proven otherwise, that MGS' fanbase is on the PS3, with MGS4 on its way to selling a nice 5M by the end of this year. And we aren't sure how many of those people also own a 360 or would even choose to get a MGSR on the 360 instead of the PS3

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
I'm confused... but happy! ^_^

Excalty It's a spin off isn't then.
Can't wait to see what he does.
It will be PS3 only if he is behind it, and you can quote me. He will not limit his creations to DVD.

Hope he makes a Big Boss game on PS3. That would be awesome.

What about Shigeru Miyamoto? He developed the Mario and the Zelda series. MGS is afterall, only a 4 game series, no matter how good it is, and Miyamoto changed the ways 2d games were played with Mario and Zelda, and then he...invented the way 3d games are played with Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Most recently, he's changed the ways gaming will be played in the future with Wii Fit, and his contribution to motion controls which ALL consoles are now fully adopting. Kojima is an epic developer but probably IS NOT the most legendary game developer in the business, as long as Miyamoto is around, imho. |
+1
Kojima is an awesome developer, he is the king on the Stealth Action genre, but besides MGS has worked on a couple minor games, but Miyamoto is on another level, as Zenfoldor said
