Anyhoos, the answer is Miyamoto. The question is who is a bigger gaming icon, not who is your favorite gaming designer. Miyamoto is a bigger gaming icon without question. The combined efforts of every other participant in the poll probably isn't enough to trump his accomplishments.

Generally if you play on consoles Will Wright is never heard of. I also hate Sonic (so i never looked up who made it) and i dont even know what the other one did without looking again.

You have 1,000 posts though. You mean in your whole time here, Miyamoto has never come up in a conversation as maybe the guy behind a dozen series that get talked about on here constantly?

Miyamoto, obviously. nordlead got the right reason, too- even the industry agrees. But second place... I'd have to give it to Will Wright. Not just The Sims, but the entire Sim line, going back to Sim City. He's done so many good games that I have to give him the nod.

If you take out Miyamoto though, my vote goes to Will Wright. That guy is an effing genius.

I guess so. It just seems so weird. It's like taking a poll asking for the biggest rock music icons and someone picking Nirvana when the Beatles are on the list, and then saying they've never heard of them and that's why they didn't pick them. Just kinda leaves a fart taste in your mouth is all.

I think this would be more like Elvis, Beatles or Nirvana.
