Oh no, don't take my comment the wrong way, hudson.  Your predictions are quite good.  It's just a difference in opinion.  I just think that, to hit all your numbers, all the X360 titles you mentioned would have to be 90+ metacritic grade titles.  While I think they all have a good chance, I just don't think it's very likely that all of them will hit that mark.

They could though. Optimism is cool.  Don't let me get u down. =)

Oh, don't get me wrong, I think all those numbers are possible.  I think hudson is very good with the relative proportions, too.  Yet.. the X360 numbers are all a bit too... I dunno... rosy, while the PS3 numbers all seem very... realistic.

I just noted all the very optimistic X360 numbers, compared to the, quite fair IMO, PS3 numbers, and thought it... odd.

I have problems with his PS3 numbers. I doubt GoW or Heavy Rain will sell that high. And both The Last Guardian and MAG should both sell more

I think hudson is basing his numbers off historical trends... which would put Last Guardian in the very-likely-sub-1M range, I think.  I think that's also the reasoning for his large Halo: Reach number... the thing is, Halo: Reach is a new story.  There's no finishing the fight to be had here, nor is it one of the first major FPS games to hit HD.  I think those factors are much more significant players in Halo 3's success than he's accounting for.

the reason for mag being that low is because i dont think it will be a very good game. and the last guardian look at all the developers past games. they were great but couldnt reach 1m.

@Dsister

If your confident that ME2 has a chance for 3m and it currently below GOW3 in pre orders why wont GOW3 do 3m+?,heavy rain has a chance for 1m as well depending on the ammount of marketing.

Why? God of War has already sold such numbers, and none of those were as anticipated as GOWIII is. Also, HEAVY RAIN selling 1 million is quite realistic. After all, it isn't very hard getting to 1 million, particularly as an exclusive on a userbase of 30mill+. Even if HEAVY RAIN isn't liked by many, I can see it getting to 1 million. I doubt it'll be a game that's disliked though.

I take that back. I could have sworn that the sales of the originals were much lower. Heavy Rain is a game that doesn't look like it will appeal to many people, and it is releasing in a time that is really crowded

You should download and play the MAG beta, if you have a PS3, hudson.  I think you're hugely mistaken about MAG's quality.  I only think your number is decent, because MAG is online only, which will limit its audience.  I don't think many games can claim to have had tens of thousands of happy beta testers, and to allow everyone who has a PSN account play before release, without being pretty decent.

Haze appeals to a much larger crowd. There are many fans of shooters.

February is really crowded? With what exactly, besides, perhaps, Bioshock? What else comes out on PS3 that month that "crowds" it?

I mean Q1 in general. Look how many games are coming out in January, February, and March. Including sequels to a lot of hit franchises. Including Bioshock, GoW, Final Fantasy, and Splintercell

i just dont think resistance 3 will be an exclusive. insomniac has talked about multiplatform quit a bit and i think it was because R2 sold badly compared to the first game. god i hope they go multiplatform. i loved there spyro and ratchet n clank games.

too bad both Resistance and Ratchet & Clank IP is owned by Sony, not Insomniac.. So yeah, I think these games will be multiplat too... Know what you talk about, BEFORE you talk... Just an advice...

No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise - 360 will have superior version due to the fact that ps3 will be censored.

Source please? I found this: http://www.siliconera.com/2009/11/19/no-more-heroes-heroes-paradise-will-be-uncensored-on-xbox-360-only/ but it doesn't say anywhere that this will be the case. It says: "Amiami’s product page explains the Xbox 360 version is the North American edition and they expect it to be rated as an adults only, CERO Z game. This warning only appears on the Xbox 360 page, which suggests the PlayStation 3 version will have black pixels instead of red blood." keyword here is SUGGEST. Besides CERO Z means that they are talking about the Japanese rating system, so almost no one here will be buying that version anyways..

it also says: "This shouldn’t be an issue in North America if Ubisoft picks up No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise since the ultraviolent version was published here on Wii. Europe is a different story since Rising Star Games released the censored version." and I guess you will pick up the Japanese version right? Also, I see you are located in Europe and can then not import on the 360, but a system like PS3 is region free, so I find no obstacles for PS3 owners not to get the bloody, uncensored version. too bad the European version of No More Heroes were censored on the Wii and your precious 360 version might see the same fate in Europe. So maybe you will get the gimped version without the option of importing and PS3 owners can pick and import the version that suits them... SO I guess maybe the PS3 version got the edge then? Thank god for Sony not being stuck in the past still having REGION LOCK on their console. Region Lock is so last gen, lol...

edit: actually I am in Japan right now and I went out to look at some games. the PS3 has several CERO Z rated games, so I cannot see how this would not be rated CERO Z for PS3 as well... Until we get more info (or proven otherwise with a link), I take this censorship issue very lightly.

edit2: Also the God of War 3 demo begs to differ. If God of War 3 isn't bloody enough to need censorship, I doubt No More Heroes will... My take on it..
