I have spoken to 2 mods, I don't know who you're trying to kid. You and Ghost have both made it clear you're not fans of Metacritic, so I'll leave that there.

I never suggested you broke a rule, you got the complete wrong end of the stick there, so that whole little paragraph you wrote me is wasted on me.

Oy, that's not entirely fair. I actually like metacritic. I just don't take it as an absolute indicator of quality.

And, again, that has nothing to do with the phrase "metadarlings," which is a term of affection. It refrs to critical darlings, as measured by Metacritic. Would you prefers I use "UPs", for Universally Praised on the Metacritic scale? I just don't think it sounds as good.

If a mod thinks I'm trolling, report me! They will take care of it, though I hope they're reasonable enough to see I'm not trolling Metacritic.

Wow seriously, did my last sentance just like, go straight over your head? I didn't think you were breaking a rule, I didn't think you were trolling, I didn't report you. I quoted you the rules because you need to learn them.

Metadarlings .. don't even bother trying to justify that. I'd prefer you to call it METACRITIC. But I know that's too much to ask. I'm pretty sure Naz doesnt care if you call it that, but common sense tells me if someone from meta see's your little made up word they'll take it as derogatory, seen as you made it up how you expect people to know it's true meaning is beyond me. It certainly sounds derogative. Heck I could call the atair fans, atair fairys. Completley made up, sounds derogatory but it's really isn't.

Metadarlings coming from complaning wii fans about the scores on metacritic, does not sound like a term of affection Khuutra.

What part of the rules am I not getting here?

The question came up as to what we would call 90+ rated games on Metacritic if not AAA, and I provided an answer. It's not derogatory. I'm sorry if you see it that way, but it isn't.

It's definitely not your place to tell me if I should stop doing something.

No. Of course, it's much more a matter of personal opinion than statistics. Metacritic doesn't have the ultimate answers. But, as we are here:

GC's AAA titles in my opinion:

Melee
Wind Waker
Metroid Prime 1 and 2
Tales of Symphonia
Resident Evil 4
Pikmin 1 and 2
Double Dash!!
Star Fox Adventures
Mario Power Tennis

Wii's AAA titles in my opinion:

Galaxy
Brawl
NSMBW
Ōkami (although it's just a port)
Wii Sports Resort

I decided not to include WiiWare titles, and I don't think New Play Control! games or the Wii Edition for re4 should be included, as they are not originally for the Wii. As it seems, Wii still has five games to go and get even with GC. In my opinion, it's not capable of doing it. Third-party support has always been poor and Nintendo cares more for casual games which will hardly be considered AAA titles.

Take it to my wall if you want to talk about rules.

You can harp on all day about how it's "praising" metacritic, if you think anyone's buying that then you're wrong. You're right I'm not in a position to tell you what to do, I was trying to appeal to your better nature, albeit rather rudley so I apologise for that. Using the word "metadarlings" isn't breaking any rule on this site, so why you're trying to wriggle out of saying it's true meaning is quite strange to say the least.

...That is its true meaning. "Darlings of Metacritic," or "games that average out to receive 90+ and 'universal praise'." There's no hidden meaning there, and I'm not "wriggling out" of anything.

Oy.

To get back on topic

No, the Wii is never, ever, ever goig to match the Gamecube in terms of games rated at 90 or above on Metacritic, colloquially "Metadarlings". I would be shocked if it ever matched up to the Dreamcast, even without looking at the Dreamcast Metacritic figures.

I consider NSMBW an AAA title yet it just lacks below 90 because of some sour whiny reviewers.

Honestly the game doesnt even feel better then ratchet and clank its too conservative nothing new.

How come all other sequel that add so little to the genre get lower scores than their predescessors but god forbid the Leading Franchise on the Nintendo systems not be an exception

Hey in every medium, when something is loved and gushed about by the majority of critics, we can call them critical darlings. It's not an insult. It's perfectly neutral. Now we have metacritic, which aggregates those reviews, so metadarlings is just a funnier way to say that. Godfather 2, Citizen Kane, and The Shawshank Redemption are metadarlings, and so is GTAIV with its Oscar-worthy dialogue.

No it comes across as derogative, though you're really shooting yourself in the back in the process, do you know how many wii games are highly rated here compared to metacritic? If we could get on Meta it would somewhat help the Wii's performance there. You and your wii friends have made it clear you don't care, mainly because it doesn't swing in your favour. That's fine, don't spoil it for the rest of us that do find metacritic to be a good measure on a games library. Because simply

Metacritic > your opinion (or any individuals come to that)

Metacritic is the accumulation of all the bias we may found on some gaming websites and amongst some gaming "journalists", nothing more, nothing less...

When it comes to Wii and DS games i may like or not, the only opinion i trust is mine, and also most of the times, the ones of my friends here, and the ones found on a few websites i still read, and are really worth my time...

If you don't see where's the problem with most Wii reviews these days, that's fine, but don't ask us to accept the situation like the brainless sheeps most gamers are becomin' these days... when the opinions of 5 to 10 stupid reviewers (amongst 50 to 100) is enough to ruin a metascore, then that metascore means NOTHING...

And a game like Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn will be AAA in my heart, even if it's scored under 80 on such a "reliable" compilation of bullshit...

The opinions of hundreds of "true" Wii lovers have way more importance than the opinions of that self-proclaimed "gaming elit", like it or not...

I would have to play a few Wii games before I agreed with you, but without that I can't make a decision on if reviewers are anti bias or not. On one hand I have a bunch of wii owners sayng "this game should have been rated 99/100" ect every game seems to be a f***ing god send, on the other wii games DO get rated averagly by some reviewers/sites?

There are plenty of AAA games I don't think deserved it on the HD consoles, and some I think did but didn't get AAA. But who am I to make up the rules on what's AAA.

Whatever people like to say, AAA (around here) is regarded as 90+ on metacritic. When it becomes the norm you have to respect that and agree with it, just like the term fanboy is not acceptable here. If anyone would like to come up with any term, don't let it be for 90+ rated games on Metacritic, because it already has one. Let it be for "Wii games that didn't make 90+ on metacritic"

@ Khuutra - I'm not going round in circles, I think it's derogatory, you don't, let's agree to disagree.
