Wow, was expecting a drop for Wii this week, looks like it will be a rise. That means it will be MASSIVELY up YOY for this week compared to 2008. At least 500K up. Impressive!

@ people moaning about PS3 numbers: What? PS3 barely squeaked past 1000K WE 20/12 on the back of the HUGEST week in Japan for PS3 EVAH!! No way was it going to match that. Frankly I'm amazed that PS3 might even be above 900K for the week. I was thinking it would drop into the low 800/high 700K range. Being a tad over 900K will mean being just short of about 80%+ up YOY for the week. Nice!

I'm also impressed that 360 numbers will be up. That means its last full week of 2009 will be up YoY on its last full week of 2008. Well done there. It will avoid falling further into the red for total YOY and remain only in single figure territory. It ended up being a very close run thing largely coming down to 2 weeks of sales: WE 20/12 and Black Friday week.

It'll be close for market share too to see whether Wii takes 50%+. Above 1.75 million yes, below 1.75 million possibly not.

100K intervals is a possibility for the Wii/DS ballparks. But at that sort of sales levels you also start talking in 250K intervals. Meaning Wii is closer to 2 million than 1.75 million. But we are still in ballparks so PS3 <1 million could still fall into the 800s, Wii could be in the 1.6-1.7 range. I prefer > estimates because at least then you know the lowest possible number. So for DS and 360 we know their minimum. I'd rather have had (for example) PS3 >800K than <1 mill and Wii >1.75 million rather than <2 million as teasers.

I think the PS3 is overtracked in NA, as Sony tried to snuff the 250gb down our throat and I doubt people fell for it.
