And yes the problem is the same as the RROD, which involves Solder melting away too. RROD is however easier to fix as getting to the motherboard when you open an Xbox360 is easier to do ( but RROD happens more often than YLOD, probably due to better ventilation and solder in the PS3).

I thought other things could also cause the yellow light to come on, but then again the RRoD was clearly defined as having the 3 red lights on and they have various error codes. The PS3 only has the yellow light.
