Forums - Gaming Discussion - What persisted you to buy your first console?

Hmm...It brings back memories?

Around the Network

My first console was a "TV game" that had football, tennis, squash and a light gun attachment for clay pigeon shooting. All of the games were basically pong, apart from the shooting. I can't remember the brand name, but it predated the consoles that had cartridges.

My first handheld was "Turtle Bridge", the Nintendo Game & Watch released in 1982.

I still own both of them, although the metal bezel is missing from the Game & Watch.

The first console I bought was the GC after I played Super Smash Bros., Super Mario 64, and Mario Party on my friend's N64. I heard the GC was coming out next and then bam, got it right away. It also helped that my two best friends had the PS2 and Xbox so we had all three consoles.

First handheld was GB, the allure of Pokemon was too great. >.>

My first console I got was an NES. Didn't put that many hours into it. My first true console where I bought games left and right was my PS2. And I got that because I played MGS and fell in love and needed to play MGS2.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
