Surprised the DS is not in amazon's top 10.

Because Amazon counts every color as a separate SKU. The DS would be in the top ten easily for every model and color iteration combined.
Currently playing on PS3: God of War III
Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII
Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

3% marketshare of such a large market can be indicative of the whole... Also it is 3% and going up, I just started exclusively buying my games from Amazon. They are cheaper if you wait one day. |
Actually, the big problem with using Amazon isn't that it is too small of a share (as you stated, 3% is enough) however, it doesn't properly represent the consumers that buy at brick & mortar stores. So the consumers that buy at Amazon.com having different buying trends than consumers that shop at Walmart/Target/BestBuy/EBGames/ToysRus (which makes up most of the b&m store sales)

Oh right, forgot that detail.
Wii deserves it, with its games line up the past couple of years, and its ground breaking features, it definately deserves to see these sales. Good job nintendo.
Those poor seals. Looking at the list over the years it is easy to see amazon doesn't accurately represent the market.
Good job wii and accessories nonetheless.
95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

Can you source that? I can;t find any references to Amazon's marketshare of the games business... all I could find at all is they hold 3% of DD music sales and 15% of Blu-ray video sales.

Is that sarcasm I'm sensing? :P
Why are people saying Amazon is not indicative of buying trends? Look at the worldwide sales of those items. Those are the games that trounced everything else this year. So apparently Amazon sales ARE indicative of the sales in the larger scheme.
