So I'm craving some old school PS3 gaming with Warhawk.

I stick in the game, search for some servers and only 1 official server pops up?

Thinking i have my ping filters set to low I up it up to ping 150, do another search still 1 official server, I set the ping to 200, still 1 official server, I set it to 250 still 1 official server...

So thats it Warhawk has only 1 official server going and it's not even filled, only has 12 people playing in it? WTF I think to myself..

I check the user made server and the list is small, and 99% of them were 8 vs 8 servers?

So I decide to play some Killzone 2, pop it in do a search, 1 server pops up?

WTF again I think to myself?

I refresh over and over, finally another server pops up with one person playing, same default server name "warzone" (warzone is the default server name for user created servers)

I jump in and it's 1 on 1 for a long time... 20min go buy and it's finally 4 on 5, I notice half of the players have Chinese/Japanese text as their screen name, than I start to hear people talking and it's Japanese/Chinese/Korean.

I decide to leave when it gets to 10 on 10, I make some dinner jump back online do a search and only 1 server again, and it's the same one I left over an hour ago.. I don't want to join so I do a search and it's the only one that pops up...

So I make my own lobby and start it up.. 30min go by nobody joins.. I get up take out the trash come back, still no-one in the game, I put some dishes in the dishwasher, still nobody joins.

So I close it and do another search "Warzone" pops up so I join and it's the same server I joined awhile ago, and it has some more Chinese/Japanese/Korean players name text and voice..

almost 2 hours I'm playing with the same people, I mean nobody leaves, it's just the same people...


All this makes me think...

What is up with Sony's online? Does nobody play online with it or what?..... seriously?

It's not just the games, but friends list as well..

I mean I have just as many friends with PSN as I do on XBL, & Steam, but with PSN nobody is ever on? Steam, XBL, theres always a large selection of friends playing, but with PSN; honestly the last time I had at least 3 friends online at the same time was with the last update, and none of them were playing games...

For people that have Steam, PSN, XBL, even Xfire, do you notice any lack of a solid online community with PSN? whether it be gaming or friends lists?

Um KZ2 has plenty of servers.. I dont know why only 1 popped up for you.. I usually find a load of them.

I just did a quick server search in Warhawk

27 Servers for me with under 100 ping and over 8 players in game. Some of these were not playable because I don't have the DLC installed. Less than when I actively played Warhawk, but for me at least, enough choice to find a suitable game. If I turn off search parameters, there's 143 servers, many of which require DLC or have no players.

I'm not sure how you have your ps3 set up or what your internet connection is, but make sure you have everything set up properly.

edit: Whoa, did anyone else notice that psrock's post count exactly doubles mine as of right now? Cool.

The playstation community is weak. Is this anything new? Why do you think that games sell so poorly in comparison to games of a simular quality on the 360? The best games on the PS3 now, can't even outsell a game like Gears of War 1 which released to a much smaller user base. I love my PS3, but I hate the community. That being said, I've never had a problem finding players on Killzone 2. Something sounds off...

LBP, and Uncharted 2 always has around 10-20k ppl playing.

I wouldn't know about those games but I'm surprised that Killzone 2 doesn't have a better online community anymore....

and my friends list is like that too. 2-3 ppl with me online...which kinda sucks...

I went on home a couple of weeks ago and dam, there's a LOT of people on there. (which surprised me too. )

I guess the PSN community is more fragmented than XBL. =P

I for one just hate online gaming, I just don't care for it.

I just think pS3 owners are little older , I doubt they care for online gaming as much as xbox owners who are much younger and more active.

What is up with your settings man? o_o; This has not happened to me, there are alwaysmore than 20 games going on when I play KZ2 and Warhawk.

You talkin crazy talk. Online gaming is the best thing for gaming since freaking gaming. Even the best RPGs are MMORPGs.

No, I think his problem is something else, not because PSN has no one playing, because it has plenty of people playing both the games he checked. He might have his region set weird or something.  

I just checked Wathawk, showed 8 Official servers, not one was filled, but at least more popped up, it would be sad that my fave game on PS3 would be down to only one server.. Glad thats not the case.

I also have every DLC for the game :)

Maybe it's about where you live..

I'm in Florida, just did a K2 search before I made the thread and only 3 servers popped up.  Only 4 months ago, doing a search would gather at least 15-20 servers at any given time..

Also it's Holiday break for many, and I'm sure people got their hands on some KZ2, even DL some Warhawk..
