But there would have been no games for the PS3 in 2005 and possibly no RSX included if they planned to release it alongside the 360. It's a double edged sword. If the PS3 launched at the same time as the 360, it would likely be in a much worse state as far as overall performance without the RSX and the first year sales would have been much lower. If the 360 would have launched a year later with the PS3, it could have corrected the RRoD (which in my opinion is about the only thing that has kept the PS3 so close to the 360 in sales. Without the RRoD the 360 would have sold much better), added more performance or just kept the same hardware and made it launch at an even cheaper price.
Too many unknowns to make a generalization either way.
