Agreed, noone's really pissy, it's more about anticipation to 1st. what game is it gonna be and THEN what system it would be on. As much of a Sony fan that I am, the guilty messed up side of me wants it to be on the DS just so I could laugh sooo hard (yes I do get enjoyment at making fun of my camp's "fanboys"). Watch them show a trailer where we see Cloud and we wonder "hmmm those don't look like that tech demo..." then at the end "Final Fantasy VII....*dramatic music...only on Nintendo DS" *screen goes black. ROFL, oh man even I would get a kick outta that.

How did it do sales wise? Haven't seen any MGS games for nintendo since but I could be wrong.

It may be smart to hit up the 360 for extra potential buyers but perhaps it'll all be dependent on ffxiii's success on the platform and/or sony's say in the process

I'm not sure where that poster got that idea from, to be honest. A plain reading of his source doesn't indicate that the rights extend to the Final Fantasy VII name, just the game itself. And I find it worth noting that the Final Fantasy Tactics has been used exclusively for a Nintendo system, outside of the War of the Lions port.

My guess is that the poster read a bit too much into this. BUT the link he gave is only a press release summary, not the contract terms proper. He could be right, although if he is it's purely through luck.

I noticed that the remakes of the ninty-era FF games are all on the DS so it could be that sony has some kind of hold on ffvii as well

Ack...that really slipped my mind...but yeah, you're right. On top of that, MGS2: Substance was a timed exclusive for Xbox and PC.
