I'm not sure where that poster got that idea from, to be honest. A plain reading of his source doesn't indicate that the rights extend to the Final Fantasy VII name, just the game itself. And I find it worth noting that the Final Fantasy Tactics has been used exclusively for a Nintendo system, outside of the War of the Lions port.

My guess is that the poster read a bit too much into this. BUT the link he gave is only a press release summary, not the contract terms proper. He could be right, although if he is it's purely through luck.
