Then, the game would not be a remake, it would be A PORT.
I figured that a FF7 remake wouldn't make it on 360 after the "waahh waahh wahh, why do 360 owners get to play FF13 too? That's not fair! waahh!" temper tantrum. But seeing as how Wada and the rest of Square-Enix are rolling around in money from FF13, what incentive do they have to care about the fanboys? They are buying the games anyway. Apparently some Japanese were going to boycott FF13 because it's not PS3 exclusive worldwide. Look at how that boycott turned out. lol. And the boycott won't have much pepper behind it in the west too. Multi-plat release for the FF7 remake would be a no brainer.
It's hilarious when companies like Valve and Infinity Ward are boycotted and then the boycotters break down and buy the games anyway.
To be honest i highly doubt it would ever come to Xbox 360 my reasons are;
Obviously SE is not going to release it on every console due to the demand, most of the demand for a remake are coming from people who own a playstation 3 consoles therefore it would result in it being a PS3 exclusive. FF7 Remake would not cost as much as FF13 because the story and character/stage design is there already
Why would SE release it on a console where there is no demand? SE clearly knows this and they know that PS3 owners who have played it before will definitely buy a remake, and the majority of those demand comes from people who played it but haven't completed FF7 because they're not really fond of the old tech and much prefer a remake. And also FF series have had history with the playstation brand since FF7 was the Playstation first FF game if i am correct? so wouldn't the japanese gamers feel betrayed that its going to move onto another console? SE is not going to abandon the japanese gamers and doesn't want to risk losing potential sales.
But then again theres a high percentage that it would release for the Xbox 360 even though am contradicting myself haha
More platform MO MONEY!!

It'll blow up if they announce a remake, no matter the platform(s).

Where's that FFVII on XBLA? I can't seem to find it |
Hasn't this been discussed to death already? That's because the PS3 can emulate PS1 games: nothing needs to be done to the games to get them work on the PS3, they only need to released. And that's not the case with the 360. Unlike the PS3, it can't emulate PS1 games. Simple as that. However, since they're obviously going to use Crystal Tools for a remake, and Crystal Tools is a multiplatform engine, it would require very little effort to release the game on both HD consoles.
And that's not to say it's going to be released on both HD consoles, or even any current-gen console. I'm not so sure the game is even getting a remake at all, on any console or other platform.
The so-called FF7 remake is actually a brand new console being released in 2010, where every game that gets released on that system is FF7-related.
Some of the rumored launch games:
FF7 FPS
FF7 Dating Sim
FF7 Racing
FF7 MMO
FF7 Exercise game
FF7 Cooking Sim

According to this website it sold only 70,000 copies. However, I'd imagine by now it sold about 150k. |
Ugh, well we know that's wrong. Its only showing Japanese sales and none for Americas and Others. I wasted 20 minutes looking for sales on Google before giving up. Who knows what it sold. Ya let me down, VGC. Ya . . . ya let me down . . .

There is that and also the fact that Microsoft has a strict 450MB size limit on XBLA games. There is only one exception to that rule and it is by Portal, and who wouldn't let them do that?

They can do what they did with final fantasy XIII by making it for playstation 3 only in japan and multiplatform in europe and usa. Although they're better off making it as a worldwide playstation 3 exclusive to avoid delays and quality reduction like final fantasy XIII. Saves them time and money. No need to worry about disc space and keeping both versions equal and all that rubbish.
