If you can narrow it down to just one then you must have a very dull live. Their are hundreds of artist I like/idolizes I couldn't even narrow it down to a top ten, unless you narrow it down to a specific genre.

believe me i narrowed it down because if i make a list it will take multiple pages, not because my life is dull and only like one person.

here are some of them.

Arjen Anthony Lucassen

Neil Gaiman

Kurt Hurland

Yoshitaka Amano

Siouxsie Sioux

Tim Burton

of course these are just the artists of " modern " times, there are old artists like Bach , John Milton , Edgar Allan Poe ...ect and thats all really just a tip of the iceburg of listing,

It's Edmond Dantès. Good choice of a fictional character, but not as good as Hobbes.

Note to self: Less smartassery in 2010.

Why do I always run into the educated ones?

Well, I don't know if this counts, but my idol is Rohullah Nikpai.

He is the first ever Afghan olympic medalist, just at the age of 21!

When the taliban took over, he had to leave to a refugee camp in Iran, where he started his Tae Kwon Do training, in very rough conditions, and an overall rough life quality.

However, he endured with much bravery and perseverance, and when the us drove away the taliban, started practicing in a small government donated training ground.

For years he practiced for 7 hours daily, having to work as a hair cutter to help sustain his family.

Then, in Beijing 2008, he beat the European World Champion, a very expirienced thai fighter, A british fighter and The 2007 World Champion. He demonstrated a lot of spirit and maturity as a fighter, not to mention he beat fighters that can fully commit themselves to training, and dn't lived in a war torn country.

For me, Rohullah Nikpai is just an example of how effort, bravery and spirt, can take you to unthinkable heights.

Thom Yorke.

Apparently he's very rude and snobby.

Never met him so I couldn't say. But even if he is, that doesn't disregard his musical achievements. Which are many.

I draw inspiration from and look up to a lot of people artistically.
But, if I had to list a single person, I'd go with Neil Gaiman in a heartbeat.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Phil anselmo, the biggest egotistical asshole to ever roam the earth and know it.  He is the essence of awesome, power, and the incarnation of strength beyond strength.  Deep down he was a sad, angry and empty heroine addict, but i hope to one day reach his level of greatness and self esteem.

Too hard to choose one so I'll offer up a few:

- Stanley Kubrick
- Bill Watterson
- Jackson Pollack
- David Bowie
- Thomas Pynchon

Hmm. That list kinda makes me look psychotic.
