Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft computer accessories and Windows mobile are both struggling.

winmo is dead. Symbain has a huge lead due to years and years at the top. But iPhone and Rim growth will catch it. Symbain=dead as Nokia tries to support multiple platforms...

As for gaming tie in, yes Micrsoft may have to move Xbox and the entertainment division somewhere else to maintain illusion of profitability. In the last two years, higher 360 sales have led to higher losses (ie they are still losing money on each 360, despite well placed rumours to the contrary). They could throw the Live subscription revenue into the other MS Live efforts (live mail, live messenger, etc), that would make them profitable. And maybe throw Bing ad revenue into the ent and home division to keep it profitable.

Anecdotes on hardware: MSFT HW on windows7=trouble. Logitech =troublefree.

Trying to convince me the Wii is a real adult game machine 'if you play it right' is like trying to convince me Tofu tastes great 'if you just cook it right'

even if u put apple and rim together, they are not able to pass nokia alone in marketshare.

i don't see this happening even if all american blogs want it to happen. nokia WW too big.

and symbian fundantion it's not only nokia, but SE, Samsung, LG. etc.

at any rate symbian marketshare will split. but it wont be blackberry or the iphone but own nokia maemo.

-6.5 billion doesn't sound like a profit able venture :/

But you said the original Xbox lost 6B and thats false. Whats funny is the PS3 lost money at a faster rate per console than the Xbox 1.

Xoj,

You are totally ingnoring that the Windows Mobile platform had 1 profitable year (2 million dollars) and that was year the 360 was released. Since then Windows Mobile has been under assault and has been loosing money and was then put on the EDD division around the same time the iPhone was introduced and started taking big chunks of marketshare.

This quarter the 360 will have awesome profits. Profitable hardware, very profitable accessories, profitable software, and profitable Xbox live.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
