As for gaming tie in, yes Micrsoft may have to move Xbox and the entertainment division somewhere else to maintain illusion of profitability. In the last two years, higher 360 sales have led to higher losses (ie they are still losing money on each 360, despite well placed rumours to the contrary). They could throw the Live subscription revenue into the other MS Live efforts (live mail, live messenger, etc), that would make them profitable. And maybe throw Bing ad revenue into the ent and home division to keep it profitable. Anecdotes on hardware: MSFT HW on windows7=trouble. Logitech =troublefree. |
