Overall

The original Persona 3 was in the 80% range for me with the FES additions putting it around 85%. Similar gameplay with a much better story puts Persona 4 in the 90% category. With that as a starting point, this iteration necessarily falls below 80%. It plays and looks worse than the original and the added content will not do much for people who are not already obsessed. Ultimately, P3P is a fan service game that does a good job of imitating the original. If you loved it on PS2 and are in the mood for another go around, have at it with the female MC and enjoy the new perspective. Pretty much everyone else need not apply.

The reviewer makes in my opinion some good and bad points. First, the original Persona is nowhere near an 80%, more like a 95 or so, thus it's obvious that he's not a big fan of the game. And of course, we already knew the game would be somewhat downgraded for the PSP. Still, I agree with him that it's disappointing that Atlus didn't add much other than the female character for the game, more changes would have been welcome. Still, I think that 75% is far too low for what's one of the best RPGs ever, even if it's not its best version

I love P3P. It may be downgraded, but for a PSP game, its fun as hell.

Beat both the male and female stories. I enjoyed Mshe's more though, because the battle theme was better lol.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

Hmm, I don't the think the PS2 comparisons are very fair being it's a handheld game.

It doesn't seem to be judged on its own merits but rather what the PS2 did.

Isn't the PSP as powerful as the PS2 though? Look at BBS. Unless we're all being pwned by SE and that's not how BBS really looks like, at least not during cutscenes and looks worse in gameplay...but that doesn't seem to be the case. I think the guy's being burned out by the fact this is the third time they released this game and it's basically the same.

Well, Atlus isn't quite Square Enix. Also a Persona title is not Kingdom Hearts. It's a lot harder to fit all of Persona 3 into the PSP rather than making a much shorter KH game. Gives the oppurtunity to focus some pretty assets.

I don't think it's much about graphical prowess (that, let's face it, in the original P3 is hardly anything ooooh), but more about the UMD size. Disgaea is such a perfect port because the original PS2 DVD didn't take more than 1GB, thus it fit perfectly on an UMD. Persona 3 was more than 3GB in size, it's obvious that not everything can fit as is

What are the omissions from the PS2 game in this version, zex?

For what I read

-Main characters can only equip one type of weapon
-Less anime cutscenes
-I'm nor sure I read this properly, but it seems most in-game cutscenes are gone too
-You can't walk your character in town
-Only Journey, no Answer

Mhm. Not worth it then.

I'll be getting it to play through as a chick.

I going to buy this regardless. I am a persona fanboy.
