Wii sold 9 mio between 3 january 2009 and 1 august 2009. So the Wii prediction is no risk it will happen.

The Ps3 prediction is more speculative though, it sold between 3 january and 1 august 2009  4 Million consoles so it would be at 35 Mio But ofcourse the first half of this year was horrible its even more impressiv if you think that the other half of the year sold over 8 Mio Consoles. I think the Ps3 will sell 6-7 Mio Consoles in the first half of the year that would be 37-38 Mio PS3s add 8 Mio to this number and you get 45-46 Mio until 1.1.2009.

 

That would be 3-4 mio short of 49 Mio that means in 2011 the PS3 will outsell the Super Nintendo which is a first place console that would be massive.

First place console was the NES not SNES, but Wii is now the first place console for Nintendo topping 64 million( in real life now ) which is quite a head of 61.9 mllion that NES did.  But wii topping 70 million by April is my prediction, I think NSMBWii will help along with that.

P.S If I sounds strange it's because I've had a few glasses of white wine.

Lol that explains why you misinterpreted my post. Never mind.
I actually meant First place console of its GEN. This was NES in the GEN before and PS1 in the Gen after. So the PS3 as second (by then) place console would be the first third place console which beats actually a console which was the leader in its gen.

Now I get you lol.  SNES was first in it's generation and now Wii has outsold NES which was first in in it's generation which is impressive. It will be like  Christmas 2010 when PS3 tops SNES and Wii will be about 80 million then,  It will be in 2011 when Wii tops PS1 ( 101 Million ).

My prediction is that the PS3 will average 1 million every month until July except in March where I belive PS3 will sell 1.3 million. So if PS3 manages 31.8 million by the end of 2009, thats around 40 million up until July so Megaman is spot on.

And I expect GT5 to hit at August and then that month PS3 will sell 1.8 - 1.9 million in August. In September it'll sell 1.1 million, October 1.2 million, November 2 million and December 3 million. So for the total of 2010, thats around 16 million just in 2010.

stock shortages? I don't think I have ever walked into a Walmart and not seen a few PS3's in stock.

Sorry, but, 10m in 7mos is not happening when you consider they barely do that in 12mos, in a good year.

They'll hit 40m in November 2010.

It would have to sell at an average of 300-350k per week at least.

Before the holiday boost and after the price cut, sales were staying fairly constant at 250k.

I expect that as the holiday boost winds down, PS3 will level off at 200-250k. The exclusives will give a temporary boost in sales that might push the average up to ~300k.

Altogether, I think it will get very close to 40m. Perhaps 38-39m.

MUST you bring up wii sales in a thread that is totally irrelevent to the Wii ... ugh you're doing it constantly. Cut it out!

 

OT: Depending on WHEN and how the public respond to the Wand, and if there will be GT bundles. 40 mill by September should not be ruled out, July is just a little too soon imo.
