PS3 should be about 40 Million by July, could be more if GT5 and GOW3 are system sellers.

My expectation was a new generation to be out by late 2010 as the X360 was about to have the 5-year cycle, but it seems there wont be any new generation until late 2011 or spring 2012 that´s why i changed my mind about the PS3 and their 40 million . . .

Honestly, the PS3 has not got the strong mass-market it got with the PS2 era, that´s why the last years are going 2 be very hard for them and those franchises you talk too much wont help as you think it will.

Wii sold 9 mio between 3 january 2009 and 1 august 2009. So the Wii prediction is no risk it will happen.

The Ps3 prediction is more speculative though, it sold between 3 january and 1 august 2009  4 Million consoles so it would be at 35 Mio But ofcourse the first half of this year was horrible its even more impressiv if you think that the other half of the year sold over 8 Mio Consoles. I think the Ps3 will sell 6-7 Mio Consoles in the first half of the year that would be 37-38 Mio PS3s add 8 Mio to this number and you get 45-46 Mio until 1.1.2009.

That would be 3-4 mio short of 49 Mio that means in 2011 the PS3 will outsell the Super Nintendo which is a first place console that would be massive.
