1. Can you skip cutscenes, even non-FMV ones?

2. Can you take screencaps in-game, as Crystal Bearers apparently does?



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Well, to be honest nearly all FF games can be completed in 30-40 hours doing a few sidequests.

Thanks man. I knew the game was great from the streams I've been watching but its always nice to hear spoken word since the nay-sayers seem to be making the most noise

Wow, so the side quests are limited towards the end of the game? I knew that not making this exclusive would outright ruin the FF experience .... :( *cries. Good to hear the battle system is faster pace though. I am still skeptical of buying this one. I think I'll do WKC, last rebellion and Ar Tonelico 3 first and then FF XIII. I honestly didn't like the whole "transformers" direction they took with the summons though. I sure hope FF XIII Agito and FF VS XIII don't do something like that.
As for battle systems so far my favorite battle systems would have to be Valkyrie Profile 1 and 2.

My big "nay" isn't quite to the game as much as to many HD games in general. This game so far is reported to be good, but not groundbreaking. As in it's almost literally a bigger, better looking, flashier, and most expensive game that could have been done last gen.

Not to say HD required games don't exist, just that many of these games have little new other than the "wow" factor (which means a lot of the cost is often about raw novelty). But with this game specifically, it does look pretty (and Vanille just hits quite a few of my turn-ons), but the story is one of the least compelling FF stories I've seen.

Perhaps the gameplay will make up for that, but I'm just doing a wait-and-see here (since I know better than to outright pass judgment before I actually get to try it).

Was I dreaing or SE say that the game would last 12 hours an maybe up to 20 with all the side quests?? They don't even know how long their game can be? over 20 hours is a good amount of hours actually IMO!

I thought they said 50-60 hours (maybe 40-50)

i dont want to spoil but i just reached the sidequest portion of the game, where  you have 64 missions, also i didnt grind yet, now i am 25 hours along and i am not strong enough to advace further into chapter 11. 

So that would be about when you put disc 3 of the Xbox 360 version in I suppose?

its a linear FF IMO
quite disappointing when compared to the last gen FF which is FFX.

i do not know that screencaps is, so i cant answer that, but you can skip cutscenes. even the non fmv ones
