Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I accidentally picked up a DSi car charger and my dad almost broke my DS

Leo, when you REALLY mess up, he's going to f-ing kill you. Slowly.

What I dont understand why is it so important to him that you have the right charger. He wasnt pissed at you he was pissed because something else there is no way that he reacts so extremly because such a nonsense.

Anyway its definetly the wrong type of reaction if he explodes regulary it can have different reasons if its rare then he definetly had a bad day because of something else.

Some of you definetly should stop telling him that it could be his fault its clearly not its not your fault in any way. Maybe he made shit yes maybe he was lazy or payed no attention or maybe he does this 100times but the reaction of his parents is just wrong and there is no excuse for that. His parents have the fault they are the older and smarter and they should know how to behave he is just a kid more or less.

If parents actl like this almost no mistake of him could justify such a reaction. His parents made a huge mistake.

Maybe if he lost 1000 dollar and this would be the money for the food for the month maybe then it could justify such a reaction but the words they used would be still wrong.

This is one of the cases where i would like to hear both sides of the story.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Even if the story would be different and he messed up a lot more then it still dont justify such an inappropriate reaction.

So did you finish charging the ds?

I spoke to leo-j's mom. Apparently, her comment was in response to leo's "can sperm prevent/cure acne" thread.

Erm....uh...

Man up and scream "I am a MAN!" and stomp back to walmart and curse them out untill you get the right charger.

While I agree with those of you who responded to my last post in that, yes, parents can be just as stupid as anyone else and yes the explosion you described was really bad parenting. However, some of you also missed the overall idea here. It is entirely possible that Leo continuously does stuff like this and perhaps had a few other stupid mistakes throughout that day as well. Eventually anyone hits a boiling point and may very well lash out in a rather stupid fashion. We only heard this one small point in time of Leo's version of events. I bet his dad could point to a series of issues that eventually led to his rather childish outburst.

Either way, Leo, no big deal. Life will always be full of times when you're tested for your resolve. Just accept the lows with the highs and move on. Be thankful your dad didn't do what mine did when I was about 12 and forgot to clean the bathroom before I went to school. Let's just say my experience left me literally on the floor in a daze.

I understand your point, but that still doesn't excuse a parrent from having a childish tantrum for what looks like an honest mistake (do you really think he wanted to pick up the wrong charger so he couldn't play his DS?  It seems to me that he was trying to do the right thing by spending as little money as possible).  There are much better ways to deal with the situation if that's the case.  It could be the tantrums his parrents have that make him too nervous to think things through.  It could be ADD.  It could be many things that don't warrant a parrent acting like a six year old.   If stuff like this happens on a regular basis, there is most definitely a reason for it and his parrents should think things through a little more carefully.

When your mother calls you a "retarded piece of #$$$," something is clearly wrong with the parrents ability to be parrents, which I think is the route of the problem.  I would have had a word with her if I had heard her say it.  Kids, by nature, want to please their parrents.  Problems like these start when the parrents are impossible to please.

while the parents have an obligation to respect their children, children have an obligation to grow up. the guy's 16 or  17 now, he cant afford to make as many mistakes. another thing, last gen parents and this gen videogames pretty much never mix.

When parrents act like childeren, they can not expect their kids to act like adults.  It's called leading by example because kids learn from watching what their parrents do.

How do you know his age?
