Forums - Sony Discussion - I'm stuck in Uncharted 2

LOL @d21lewis.

No, guys, I had to shoot the board after I jumped... I meant the BILL board I need to jump to FIRST.. I couldn't even jump to that... But, I held the left stick forward for a while, and jumped... and he did, then I shot the boards on the door... I was stuck on the lamp post, lol... Anyway, I'm past that, and I'm on the train.. (Woo) I stopped at the part where you have to turn the door open by mashing triangle... I kept getting shot by the helicopter, so, I gave up...

I'm not being a noob, I'm sure it's easy, I just ran out of patience.

I found it a little tough on crushing because people kept coming out from both sides, a quick nade and a hop from one sign to the other dealt with that though.

Never thought of it as a puzzle though, you're probably jumping from the wrong spot, try a higher ledge?

im lolling

I'm playing it at the moment. What your talking about is probably the only counter intuitive part of the game.

- Press forward on the analog stick and repeatedly press x. Don't worry about timing it right, as you can only leap forward when your swinging like that.

EDIT: Erm. Oh no wait, that's not the issue.

Don't just run for the door and mash triangle, you have to get rid of the chopper first. Or you will explode.

I got stuck on this one too, what a shitty, shitty, puzzle.

I love Uncharted 2 but that puzzle was one of the major low points of the game because they just completely changed the rules on you for no good reason.

I thought I actually had some bug or something and was on my way to reset the game when it told me what to do.

I don't get it, how was it a bad puzzle? How were the rules changed? You've shot boards before... they clearly show that you can't open the door from one side, and there is a giant post with signs on it that you have climbed like 3 times already....

I'd like to know that aswell.. you jump, you open the door for your her, bad guys comes and keeps you and her pinned down, you kill them and she helps you across. A bad puzzle were those "carry the square, circle, half moon thingys to the lion, snake, bird picture thingy"-puzzle.

...there is a part of a mission where you try to impress Elena and you jump on a street sign and take out your enemies then you have to shoot the boards on the door Elena can't get through, after you shoot the boards off she opens the door and lowers a draw bridge to you so you can get off the street sign, thats the only time I remember being "stuck".

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

They changed the rules by not letting you drop down at all.

The problem with that puzzle is that when you're told you need to clear the boards, they actually show a pretty clear path to the other side of the door.  I jumped straight to that lamp post and tried to take that very clear and obvious path...except the game didn't let you jump.

That is retarded.

That was a giant failure on their part because rather than thinking, "oh, since I can't jump, I should just shoot the boards and then I'm sure it will let me go" I'm instead thinking "why can't I jump?"

If they wanted to set up that fight so badly they should have just had the enemies pop out as soon as I jumped on the lamp pole and then not let me drop off.  They would be changing the rules but at least there's the immediate threat there showing me what I need to do (not die).

Again, that was just a shitty horrible puzzle that they just failed miserbly on.
