Well theres always a chance that it could flop. But going by Naughty Dogs Track record and all the gameplay videos I've seen, this game is set up for critical success.

Have you ever played Heavenly Sword? It was a great game. The reson why it got low 8's was because it was only around 5 hours long.

why does everyone thinks ps3 games automatically suck before they come out??? Like this guy right here.. do a little research before talking about a game... im not sayin that everyone game that is hyped or made by a certain company is gonna be good but if insomniac has a great track record for making games what would make you think the game is gonna just straight suck?? if naughty dog who is know for making great games puts out a game ala uncharted... why would it just straight suck ass??. lair was hyped i admit.. but there were plenty of people who predicted it was gonna suck before hand why because of factor 5 and their track record... sheesh people amaze me.. the sony hate has no boundries..

the demo for uncharted comes out this thursday so we'll know for sure

Did you really say Gears?! It has sold 3 million copies on NA alone. Uncharted will sell 10% of that.

Remember Motorsperm? Less than 400,000 copies before it got bundled with the PS3.

Lair - stands at 150,000.

Warhawk - 150,000.

Heavenly Sword - 180,000.

Ratcher & Clark opened with less than 100,000 and won't pass 400,000 within it's first year.

Uncharted is a Tomb Raider clone. 300,000 copies maximum.

After 5 weeks R&C is nearly out of the top 50 and at only 200K sold.

Uncharted's sales disappointed many Sony-fans, especially when the game got great reviews - just 127K copies sold after 2 weeks.

So, 130K after just over a week, not bad at all before the christmas boom. Youre silly if you dont think it'll hit 300,000 at all.

Both games overtracked by vgchartz.
Uncharted sold only 117,000 in Nov in the US according to NPD (186,000* on vgchartz).
Ratcher & Clark sold 66,000 (130,000* on vgchartz in Nov).
(*includes Canada sales, approx 10%)

In the US, Sony is spending big on R&C advertising. Its hard to watch anything on tv without an r&c or those "do you want it, do you need it" commercials coming on... those commercials are arguably better than the wii ones (with super mario galaxy) nintendo really needs to get a new slogan and a new song.

off topic: It would be super awesome if VGChartz had a listing of a game's production + advertising budget and then the sales dollar/euro/yen/pound amounts next to it like Boxofficemojo has for movies.
