Does the game recieving a 9.5 from IGN, 10/10 from edge, 100 from 1up, 9/10 from Eurogamer, 9.6 from IGN UK, and 40/40 from Famitsu, plus the largest amount of user praise from a upcoming cult game I've seen tell you something?

What about the detractors of the game in this very thread? Do their identities or their sigs tell you something as well?

Honestly, I feel sorry for any game that's in the same genre as a PS3 exclusive, they never get the respect they deserve thanks to this bullshit polarization this generation. I wish people would just get over the platform argument once and for all.

I just hope the chartz can handle both a Japanese Hack and Slash and Western Hack and Slash without the place turning into a killzone!

Even though I tried the demo and wasn't really pulled in, I think I owe the game at least a rental. Just so many good things said about it...

In my opipion GOW is better.

By all means, keep your opinion about this game....but for future reference, demo's aren't usually indicative of a game's quality. Tell your friends.

I never said the game wasnt good, I actually liked the Demo, but I have played GOW games before, and I just prefer them better. Hopefully, when I borrow Bayonetta, it will impress me more. I'm not buying it when GOW3 is 2 months away.

Take it from someone who has now played both games: Bayonetta does not even come close to God of War. You're doing the right thing holding out for Kratos. I disagree with the OP so much I don't even know where to begin. I actually have Bayonetta for 360 thing too that's the funny. It's a great game, but nowhere near perfect. It ranks as a good new hack and slash, but to me it's no better than Devil May Cry.

I'm not asking anyone to buy it, or even like it. GoW and Bayonetta are actually in two different but very similar subgenres of a subgenre, so comparing them is really a poor comparison, imho. There are those who prefer a deeper fighting system and style based gameplay of DMC, and there are those who prefer the story, characterization, and presentation of a GoW game.

I think that preference should determine which you purchase, and not your console allegiance. Also, I think that both games will be great, however, I highly doubt that Bayonetta will be any worse than GoWIII, all user preferences aside. That said, I have never played GoWIII, besides a little bit of the demo, so I wouldn't want to speak ignorantly about the game, as so many other have about Bayonetta. :P I just hope GoWIII isn't the same game as GoWII with better graphics, because that would be a shame.

You want to give some reasoning behind your opinion. I mean, maybe you should clear your statements up a little. Is it your user preference that makes you favor God of War? Do you imply that the gameplay in God of War is deeper than that of Bayonetta?

Mostly, I find that users like yourself prefer presentation, character, and story, to in depth japanese style combo systems, and that is the main difference between the two different subgenres. Some often mistake this as a quality difference, but it is actually a difference in user preference, as the developers actually focused on different things when creating the two games.

Thank your lucky stars for DMC though, because without it, GoW wouldn't exist in its current form. Ironically, the creator of DMC also created Bayonetta.

In the end, the game has the pedigree, user reviews, and critical reception to mark it down as a must play for action fans, GoW inferiority complexes not withstanding.

I am bias anyway when it comes to GOW, they made me a ps2 fan, they pushed the console like no other games, i have been waiting for 3 for ever. I love the series, and Bayonetta could be better, but it's not going to take away my desire from GOW3.
