Both are awesome titles no doubt but I feel Demon's Souls is just a better game.

Yeah U2 has great graphics and no doubt a very good storyline with great voice acting and solid gameplay but Demon's Souls is rich in atmosphere, gameplay, replayability and takes skill and patience to complete it. It is unlike the games of today where they are incredibly easy where pretty much anyone can beat it.

I think it is much more of a breath of fresh air than U2 would ever be.

It was nice to play a game where the story was told through the gameplay.


This is just my opinion of course. I hope it grabs that overall GOTY from Gamespot as well. It would be very much deserved.

Both games are worthy of such an award, but I'd give the nod to Demon's Souls overall. I've invested hundreds of hours into the game, and it'll definitely be the one I remember more years down the road.

It is my personal game of the year, and my second favorite ps3 game after LittleBigPlanet.

I own both. I love both. Both are equally amazing.

They are clearing the way for Uncharted 2 to hit overall GOTY! This opens the door for Demon's Souls to get some well deserved attention getting PS3 GOTY.

while uncharted 2 is a lot of fun it follows a conventional formula demons souls on the other hand breaks with any kind of formula but still remains a fun game and not some obscure experiment

and as someone who could never beat a single megaman game i say this game isnt all that hard

Quite an amazing feat.... I wonder if SCEJ, SCEA and FROM are all in a state of shock at its stateside reception?

One thing seems certain, SCEA probably regrets passing on the localization in favor of letting a 3rd party ( Atlus ) publish it. Imagine the sales if SCEA had brought it, and actually done a real marketing push. I am sure Atlus has to be pleased though.

I don't think any game i've played in this generation, so far, provides the experience that Demon's Souls gives to everyone that plays it, even those who pick up the game and end up selling it the next day after only having played it for 5 minutes and died 10 times :P
