It's okay, and for all the people saying it's a God of War rip-off, this game seems to have the same mechanics of Bayonetta and DMC, so how is it a rip-off of God of War? Shouldn't it be a rip-off of that style of game from Japanese producers? Heck, they ALL seem to be a rip-off of Diablo series, imho, so spare us the nonsense. Seems okay, but I'm now wavering if I should make it a rental like Bayonetta.

you can start off by wearing glasses.

Sales will be the truth speaker.

I don't like it or GoW, simply because there both far to overly violent for my taste, but i gotta admit GoW is simply better. Dis put it the best way though imo.

Bay > GoW > DI

So... why so serious guyz?

Ohhh shit I think I know where this is going, do I sense another prototype vs Infamouse incident wer 360 fans hyping up a multiplat game like its exclusive to go up against the ps3 exclusive? not this again plz.

lmao! yeah that was it! i thought this reminded me of something. i think it has more to do with 360 fans having something like this to be better then nothing, i don't like the graphics of both games but DI is ugly.

I do like the look of Dante's Inferno even if it has a rather derivative look to it. That doesn't mean it won't be fun and engaging.

However, being console neutral, when person X says Y multiplat game is going be be >> than Z exlusive game, and Z exclusive game is on a console that X person has a particular and known history for bagging. Then X person's comments are not without a certain degree of suspicion.

Anyway, didn't you know GoW isn't the benchmark anymore, it's Bayonetta; apparently.

@ Patapon: You know, I usually don't chime in unless somebody says something really stupid, like saying David Lee Roth wasn't the best frontman for Van Halen or that GOW was the founder of the hard action subgenre. Now I don't know what oxygen deprived planet you just beboped off of, but here on planet Earth, DMC is considered the progenitor of the hard action subgenre (you know, the same genre that GOW resides in). Now I'm not going to delve into a rant on how much I hate GOW and the Dante's inferno demo and how much Bayonetta is going to smear them gameplay wise and critically, I've covered that territory quite thoroughly in a previous thread. Rather I thought abit of a history lesson was in order. Oh, and welcome to Earth.

This demo sucks. I cant stand this EA dev team. Biggest rip off developers around...

Wow, very hostile comment you got there... might want to fix that... And I think God of War gameplay is leagues above Bayonetta (at least from my inital demo impression) and DMC. That's okay, that's my opinion. You are allowed to have a different one.

One thing that IS factual though is that God of War brought a unique type of gameplay to hack and slash. Like it or not, it is diffrent. From this, it created a subgenre.  Does that make sense or would you like to keep with the passive aggressive attitude?

I must have missed the part in the Divine Comedy where Dante gets ice magic and rides a demon to break open the door to hell.

I didn't like the demo. It was just a button masher. I defeated every enemy, except for the boss, by pressing the O and square button repeatedly. Also controlling the giant demon in the end was awful. The only things I liked about it was the setting and the cutscenes.

I totally agree.  The cartoon cutscenes were really cool.  The rest was stretching things, both in terms of how predictably they can turn Dante into a generic action badass and in terms of how long they expect me to just hit attack over and over again so I can get to the boobies... err movies.

My favorite words I've read on the Demo, from Gabe of Penny Arcade:

"In other news, did any of you guys grab the Dante's Inferno demo? It's like they took the Divine Comedy and turned it into a seventh grader's wet dream. Tycho and I were laughing during most of the cut scenes. When Dante is sewing the cross into his skin we couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be funny, or if if they were actually serious about this crap.

Somehow they managed to copy everything about God of War except the fun.

That's my back of the box quote."
