This is insane. PS3 and Wii both outsold DS and PSP. Did this ever happen before in this generation? I'm also curious about the sales of Samurai Warriors 3 because it outsold ToG in its third week despite ToG being in store since two weeks.

Oh crap...PS3 and Wii are beasts.

PS3 currently ~240k ahead of 360 this week Americas will probably be more or less even, and Others will swing stronly in PS' favor. Off topic, but I wonder by how much will PS3 > 360 this week.

Wow incredible hardware sales for both PS3 and Wii, and amazing attach rate for FFXIII I have to admit. Amazing week three for Mario as well, but this was leaked before.

On the bad side though is ToG, at this position it probably barely sold 20k in its second week which is a huge letdown.

So any chance of PS3 outselling Wii in 2009 now that FFXIII week didn't bring PS3 domination?

Well close enough, 190k wii's is still something! And SW3 seems like it'll leg out much better than ToG. I think that it's appealing more to the Wii crowd, maybe its a more mainstream title than a tales game. Plus the "tales" crowd are already split up, but SW3 is the first one to hit consoles this gen. Maybe it can be a surprise hit!

Also anyone else notice a certain NSMBDS in the top 20?

well, vgchartz data through december 12th.

wii - 1,412,450

ps3 - 1,339,796

difference - 72,654

this week's media crate numbers are 45, 171 in ps3 favor which makes....

difference - 27, 483.

there are two weeks left in the year after that so potentially yes although more likely then not the wii will win both of those weeks.  an impressively close race none-the-less though.
