I thnk Nintendo will probably not refresh the entire platform around video output. From what I've been reading from what I've been readng it seems more likely they would adopt an option of upscaling the picture, if anything. So he answer is probably no, third parties will go away slowly not because of the consoles they're developing for, but for their design choices.

Confession: I've been playing PS3 on my HDTV for the past few months with an HDMI cable, looks beautiful.

That said, I just got a Wii and hooked it up to my TV on stadard resolution, and I don't know what the fuss is all about. Granted, Ive pretty much only been playing Wii Sports thus far, but the image looks fine.

honestly, I find that HD isn't all that it's said to be.

Try setting the PS3 to the lowest possible resolution, then you will see the difference.

As I understand it he didn't say he didn't see a difference, just that even after playing HD the Wii image is still good enough when he plays on the Wii. Same here - while I don't have a PS3, I've played it a little here and there and surprise surprise I'm still absolutely fine with the images I get on the Wii.

OT: it's really a technological issue. If they would be able to do it relatively easily at relatively low costs (without having to build the game from the bottom up in order for it to work), many will. It's all about the money. The different controls mean nothing, after all they could just do a classic controller port...

The obvious answer is yes, for some...

The real question is how many (I know, that's why you asked tons)... that will depend on market share, exact specs, etc... There is already some hints there will be some ports of existing PS360 games to the Wii... If the Nintendo's next console has enough CPU and video to be greater than the PS3 and 360 (99% likely), and if it sells more than the PS3 and 360 (not so likely), then there will be a lot.

If the HD consoles continue to use controllers, then no it will still be the same like this generation.

if the Wii HD is on par or better than PS360 CPU and GPU then answer is obviously yes, Why bother developing new game when you already have something built. Just port it for a small amount money for a chance of bigger profit.

With publishers' "port everywhere" mentality, it should be inevitable. The question is just who will succumb to publisher demands, and who will not.

MIDDLEWARE IS THE CANCER KILLING CREATIVITY

Don't kill me I am drunk and it is christmas but maybe some of you will read deeper into my comment and understand its basic sincerity and maybe when I am sober the comments to this will appear so restrained and considered that I will certainly appreciate the scope of the frontiers that developers must conquer to feed themselves.

No, it wouldn't - the GCN being more powerful than the PS2 never helped it out much, so why would a newer Wii on par or better than PS360 suddenly change attitudes towards Nintendo?

Depends on how profitable it can be. If the 3rd parties can create last gen ports for Nintendo's next console and still make an easy profit off of it, then you can bet they will.
