I thnk Nintendo will probably not refresh the entire platform around video output. From what I've been reading from what I've been readng it seems more likely they would adopt an option of upscaling the picture, if anything. So he answer is probably no, third parties will go away slowly not because of the consoles they're developing for, but for their design choices.

Confession: I've been playing PS3 on my HDTV for the past few months with an HDMI cable, looks beautiful.

That said, I just got a Wii and hooked it up to my TV on stadard resolution, and I don't know what the fuss is all about. Granted, Ive pretty much only been playing Wii Sports thus far, but the image looks fine.

honestly, I find that HD isn't all that it's said to be.

Try setting the PS3 to the lowest possible resolution, then you will see the difference.

As I understand it he didn't say he didn't see a difference, just that even after playing HD the Wii image is still good enough when he plays on the Wii. Same here - while I don't have a PS3, I've played it a little here and there and surprise surprise I'm still absolutely fine with the images I get on the Wii.

OT: it's really a technological issue. If they would be able to do it relatively easily at relatively low costs (without having to build the game from the bottom up in order for it to work), many will. It's all about the money. The different controls mean nothing, after all they could just do a classic controller port...
