If you look at the chart, The Wii WW sales is steady and unaffected by the sharp drop from Japan. I think that is enough proof that Japanese weren't all stop buying all of the sudden. Looks to me the production just got diverted to Others.

Another thing I noticed is the PS3 is following very closely the footsteps of 360.

During that time frame, 360 did not have a price cut (not that I remembered, anyways) while PS3 has, so far, twice. So, if PS3 needed 2x pricecut to keep up the sales that of 360's, that's troublesome. 

Game industry also grew a lot since last year, which means PS3 is doing even worse than it already is even it's following closely that of 360's past.

What should Sony do to pick up some wind?

I think they are already on the right track recently with the lack of grabage spewing from Sony reps.

Maybe they can do something with the PSP to promote PS3 sales? 

Push the devs to chun out games, give them incentives in focusing on PS3.
