"It requires OpenGL ES 2.0, so the iPhone 2G and 3G won’t work, nor will the older iPod Touch models. It doesn’t really matter though, this is just a starting point."
It requires the 3G S and newest iPod Touchs. Spec for spec, the iPhone 3Gs is stronger due to it supporting newer programming standards.
Edit: spec v spec, the Iphone is stronger then the Wii.

Specs really don't mean anything. In practice, Wii is a much more capable gaming machine than the Iphone.

well spec's do provide a upper ceiling that the developer can gauge from in what direction he or she may take for their software.
as for much more capable of a game machine that is pretty subjective to the person by person basis.
for example would you say the
Wii is more capable as a game's machine than the Nintendo DS?
both are fine game's machine's
is the Wii more powerful than the DS, yea no question about it, is it a more capable as a game's machine
that's pretty subjective In my opinion.

With "much more capable" I'm referring to the hardware. So yes, the Wii is a more capable gaming machine than both the DS and the Iphone when it comes to horsepower and performance.
Let's put it this way: a PC with a Nvidia 128MB 7100,overclocked Pentium 3 to 1GHz and 256MB RAM is, spec-wise, superior to the Wii. But the PC will never be able to run most Wii games.

horsepower and performance is as alway's is one of the thing's that can give the advantage to any game system, it's what each and every game developer team or house can do with that hardware is what it mainly boil's down too.
so for overall spec's yes the Wii is more powerful than the DS and in many cases more powerful than the Iphone, but as for being a "much more capable game machine" that still boils down to the skill level and experience of each developer team or house.
as for running most Wii game's with the example you just stated:
any game could be designed to run on any hardware within limit's of said hardware, of course would it be the same game?
that depend's
on how and what the software is designed to run on.
so never be able to is a very strong word, would it be as it stand be able to run the Wii software as it is? most likely no, could it be retooled to work. most likely yes. would it be cost effective?, maybe not.
there is many problem's you have to take into account nothing is as black or white, there are quite a number of grey area's when it come's to this part of the industry in my experience i have seen many thing's that have changed esp. In the computer an consumer electronic's industry.
