They gave Super Mario Galaxy 2 a score of 8/10, which is atrocious in my opinion.

I thought the msnbc review was fair. Should have been longer but fair.

how convenient that you picked NOW to point out that the "review system" has fallen... and why is the 8/10 fair when the game has been getting 10's almost unanimously from most reviewers (even the 'harsh' ones), am i supposed to beleive that these 'msnbc' people know more about games than ALL those other reviewers? i don't see how THAT makes sense now

what's your problem? coming into the official thread and implying that the game doesn't deserve good scores... leave us alone so we can party!

This is coming from someone who has finished SMG2 as well as the first one now. The game recycles to much for it to deserve a 10. I don't understand why alot of you people don't see that. and it is also funny that just because someone gives the game a 8/10 that it is the end of the world. and that person is unfair towards Mario/Nintendo.

Friend of mine also beat the game today and said that the game in his opinion was 7/10. He just must be a blatant Sony/MSFT fanboy too.

Ah you finally got somone to bite and you have every single star already? awesome job!

The game isn't that hard. But yeah, the green stars aren't that fun, since you got to re-run every level and find them randomly. -.-

How hard it is or isnt is different per player. I am at 85 stars atm myself. I probably wont reach 120 till this weekend or after unfortunetly. Anyways, platformers are easily my favorite style of games. I am finding some of these stars really hard. I can not imagine how hard it is for some of the other people who play a lot less of them. I am currently working on the Beat BLock Galaxy Comet and it is pissing me off lol

Ok, let me set it clear: a 8/10 is good, though the game deserves IMO a 10, but it isn't count in Metacritic so we actually don't care. It's a thread of joy and we are here to share advices and tips. We don't need a flame war if Galaxy 2 deserves whether or not a complete 10. Do you actually mind it got so many 10?

Oh and, the opposite is also real. My cousin told me he likes more Galaxy 2 than 1 and, when you play the first, you realize it's obsolete compared to its sequel.

I'm not trying to start a flame war. I'm just saying that reviewers obviously don't know how to review if they are giving it a 10.

For 1, no game is perfect. 2 the game recycles so much from the first and from previous Mario games. and finally it just doesn't have the leap that the first SMG had.

But does it really matter? A sequel would not be a sequel if everything was changed. Yes, no game are perfect, but you don't need to dampen the excitment around here by coming on the thread to claim your disappointment.

Well that's not the problem. The game is not a dissappointment. It is actually a good sequel. But it just doesn't deserve the praise it is getting.

I died about 7 times trying to bring the Goomba to that stupid robot in Boulder Bowl Galaxy. I was really clumsy.

At least, you can't say it's as easy as the first. Compared to the first Galaxy, this one is hard for me.

That still remains your own opinion, which I'm sure isn't shared by everyone. For me, it's a perfect art and visual achivement for a Mario game, and it still has the excellent gameplay that makes the serie so famous.

55 stars and kickin' some Bowser Jr.'s Boomsday Machine.

Well, I personnaly think this game brings high expectations around the score, the Wii definitely needs a big 90+ game and Galaxy 2 is a ray of hope.

LOL! Yes indeed, we should all kneel at the altar of MSNBC, the timeless and flawless bastion of videogame journalism

Are you serious, Wagram? That's really grasping at straws buddy.

World 6 is pretty damn hard. It is also my favorite of all. I like the background with the Black Hole sucking all planets and cosmic debris... It's so epic.

And so... the story isn't that bad when you know the end

My favorite game so far. I have a monster fun playing with my sister.

I didn't expect that ending... so it surprised me...

You're right moreno. The Melty Monster music is awesome, and so is the galaxy.

Question for you all: There is like wooden trunk wheel on the Starship Mario and there are 3 vacant. Do they all ahve to be filled by characters? Does the Chimp go on your ship?
