Means you're done with that stage, though that doesn't count Green Stars, but it's a nice indicator that there are no hidden stars that they're not making you aware of.

So, I have a question. Is SMG2 actually harder than the first one? I've gotten about 60 stars so far, and it doesn't seem very much harder. Does it get harder later on in the game?

But I don't get the point about difficulty... If the games isn't difficult and last about 50 hours to do, then it's a REALLY LONG game! Many games nowadays are difficult to hide a short adventure.

SMG2 is definitely harder than the first, but not too difficult. That's really fine with me, I don't like old Mario games where I keep dying all the time.
