Forums - Sony - Just finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Loved it! But...

**spoiler warning** (for an old game...)

Isn't it wierd how you spend 20 chapters looking for El Dorado, just so that at the end Nate can be like, 'yeah move the altar, it's right there'?

HAHA, I thought that was pretty funny.  Didn't ruin the game for me one bit, still loved it, but thought that was a pretty big sized plot hole there...

Oh and I know...I'm years late on this, but I'm a relatively new PS3 owner.

Its a great game. I like it better then the Uncharted 2. I love the supporting cast in the first one better then the second.

Now Playing: Crysis 2

Last Finished: BulletStorm

Online IDs: PSN: computermaximus, XBL: computermaximus

I think I'm buying the God of War Collection next, but getting Uncharted 2 soon.

They did a great job of fleshing out Nate's character though.

I played Uncharted: Drakes Fortune 3 times in a row, once on hard, then twice on crushing or whatever it's called...I found that it was just ironic that it was under the alter...not a plot hole, and you don't actually get to that church for a while anyway

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

I played it on hard, and didn't find the difficulty...too hard at all.  I haven't tried "crushing" yet though.

Be that as it may, he spends time in the church looking for clues, then at the end out of nowhere he's like, oh yeah, move the altar.  Why not just do that at the very beginning?

Unless a person has x-ray vision, there is no way Nate could have figured to look under the alter in the first place.

I agree, but that is exactly my point, how did he know to look there later?  It is never explained how he figures that out, he just tells Sully, to help him move the altar.

You spend 20 chapters searching for clues, and then finding the island, then finding the church on the island. Yes, he could have picked a random church on a random island and gotten lucky, but where would the fun be in THAT?

Uncharted 2 is much better. Do yourself a favour and buy it.

Uncharted 2 is a definite purchase, it's only the timing that is in question.

You misunderstand me though; I enjoyed the narrative AND gameplay of Uncharted.  I just think it's funny that they forgot the very minor detail of explaining how he knows to look under the altar.  They do a good job of explaining all the clues/reasons he goes through what he does, until the very end.  No big deal...just interesting.
