FF sales in the other perspective....

Game -> Sold / Install Base = Attach Rate

  1. Final Fantasy VII -> 2,034,879 / ~5,000,000 = 40%
  2. Final Fantasy XIII -> 1,516,532 / ~4,000,000 = 37%
  3. Final Fantasy X -> 1,749,737 / ~5,500,000 = 31%
  4. Final Fantasy VIII -> 2,504,044 / ~14,000,000 = 17%
  5. Final Fantasy IX -> 1,954,421 / ~16,500,000 = 11%
  6. Final Fantasy XII -> 1,840,397 / ~22,000,000 = 8%

The second best FF launch ever (I don't have data from six fist FFs).

AMAZING SALES.

I am a bit surprise myself. From those preorder numbers (aroung 900,000) i never thought the sale will be higher than 1.2M (+33% of preorder) for the first week. And for the second day they manage to make more than 50% of the preorder. i know that it is FF but still very impressive with only 4.2 Millions user base and PS3 software not selling at all in Japan.

More than 100 million dollar in fist week sales for FFXIII.

This is success and Square Enix is happy now.

FFXIII will be sales more in next weeks.

@ All the negative people, I doubt Sony or SE are any where near disappointed in their respective sales.

245k plus 400k Europe and 350k NA. I remember Famitsu Numbers alwas a lot lower for the PS3 then Media Create and VGChartz. So maybe 245-250k. If PS3 doesnt reach 1 Million this week it would be damn close. For sure over 900k.

you are misinformed. PS2 sold more than 250K a few times during the holiday period and I think this one is the peak.

OT: about 25% above my expetation for FW. LT (2 mil) would be close though.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

stopm tryin to be a smart ass man, this game has made more money for sqaure enix than every single other game they made this gen combined! and funnily most of them were 360 exclusives. i think they have learnt their lesson.

Ok but atleast for FF launch week it would be the biggest. Thats what I read, somehow I thought for all weeks. I should read more carefully.

So in other words, in less than 3 days FF XIII kicked Famitsu predictions where they estimated:
