Slightly under my predictions (1.6m) but still pretty close. Great for a PS3 game, not so much an FF game. With its legs steadily disappearing since last gen, I'm not sure if it'll reach my 2.1m Lifetime prediction.

I guess we'll see next week.

are you serious? The ps3 thanks to FF XIII has had its best week in JAPAN EVER.

We are talking about a console that was doing 10K a week earlier in the year.

And that's fantastic. It's had an excellent week and a massive boost in sales.

Oh God!!! People here still not believing in the success of FFXIII.

FFXIII is definitively a system sellers, moved at least 150k more PS3 in just 4 days.

If you had you would know that I am only saying that it is not yet what would normally be called a "system seller". It certainly is in the literal sense, but you don't think of "GTA3" or "Tetris" only because it met the literal criteria. I'm not sure what it would take for it to be called that in a single week, but it wouldn't normally happen for something that's likely to be so frontloaded.

So moving on, anyone want to predict next week's FFXIII sales?

My 2 cents.

Congratulations to the sales of FF. It certainly gave some nice hardware sales boost. I think Square should be proud.

On the other hand I have made previous comments that still has this fall into it. FF is such a big name that it has a strong loyalty. Many Final Fantasy fans "knew" FF13 would be on the PS3 and as such chose what system. It could have released on the NGage and done super well. In that the sales of 1.5Million in 4 days could be the core fans of Final Fantasy. I also think the core fans will show themselves coming for the next month. It will be 2 months down the road to really see the impact that Square has with Final Fantasy.

Why anyone doubted the strength of FF has with it's core fans I have no idea. Though i'm surprised the numbers aren't higher.

My second week prediction:

300-350k for FFXIII
