Forums - Sony - Games That Make Really Good Use of the Sixaxis Functionality

Flower, Folklore were great uses.

I enjoyed planting C4 charges in Killzone 2 and holding the controller steady to snipe. The minigames in Ratchet & Clank and falling sections were fine too. MGS4 controller the robot was good. Nothing too substantial here to overall gameplay like Flower & Folklore, but nothing that made me frustrated.

Most uses haven't been practical.
Wish I didn't have to guide arrows in Heavenly Sword with the six-axis. High velocity bowling isn't that great. Warkhawk was fun for a short while, but traditional controls allow for better accuracy in evasive moves.

Lair was terrible. I couldn't even play the game with six-axis and gave up. Although one of my friends got used to it and actually enjoyed it.

For everyone who said Motorstorm. Try completing a race using sixaxis.

Even my girlfriend can do this and win.

More difficult but can be done with some practise. Becomes more tiring though.

What a fantastically inappropriate misogynistic comment.

Heavenly Sword
Folklore
Flower
LocoRoco PSN

Those are my choices.

I liked the sixaxis handle turning and charge setting in kz2

also folklore

I disable sixaxis control whenever I have to opportunity to. The controller is not at all shaped for motion controls, they're always awful. In Mirror's Edge, I had to lay my controller on the floor to do the balance section with Sixaxis on.

Both Folklore AND Flower are the leading games on PS3 that take full advantage of the Sixaxis Control.

And soon there may be another PSN game that'll take full advantage of the Sixaxis Control... hint... hint... soon to come...

I forgot to mention Trash Panic, where you use the sixaxis to shake the trashcan around. I downloaded and played the demo, but it wasn't my thing.

Lair uses it... Decently. The issue with lair is that the whole game is crappy. Crappy voice acting, crappy difficulty curve, crappy story told in a crappy way.. confusing enviroment. And the controls needed 1 mechanic. To be able to stop your dragon easily in midair .. Just stop op.
So actually I wouldn't recommend lair. Because all other aspects than the controls of it sucks.

Wait, did you even play Lair with the SIXAXIS controls?  It's pretty much unanimous that it's pretty much unplayable.  That's the whole reason it got such a low score and eventually got a patch.

There are some things that are opinions and completely up in the air like the Uncharted controls or LBP controls, but then there are just bad things like Lair.  You may like them, that doesn't make them good though.

Actually I had no issues controlling the dragon. The only issue I did have was that you couldn't stop properly to make a overview of where you would go next which forced you to move around in circles. I've only played lair pre patch so yeah, I have. Controls were one of the least of it's issues. In my opinion.

Flower.

And you know this man !

Check out my game about moles ^

I think sixaxis is dead. Uncharted 2 made no use of sixaxis, even though the first one did. Same does for Ratchet & Clank. A Crack in Time made no attempt to use it; I'm only %30 done, so maybe I haven't gotten to a sixaxis section.

I was thinking of starting this as a poll but wanted to see if there was a thread first to see what people were saying
flower
folklore
rac:tod
super rub a dub were the ones I was thinking if the poll

some loved it for lair I had tried it but it used it too much in my opinion and the patch had them take the sixaxis off things they should have left it on and left it on things they should have taken it off of but oh well

heavenly sword I turned it off
motorstorm I turned it off
uncharted was really minimal
lbp doesn't affect gameplay
haven't played flow

ah pixel junk eden had a cool use for it to get your character to go down really fast (doubt many played the game though)

kz2 didn't add much and felt forced on
genji wasn't helpful (i often won't up rolling the wrong way)
cod3 felt like a useless add on
rag doll kung fu tried a bit but didn't get that interested (turning over the controller is rather awkward though although unique)

haven't tried trashcan panic or mirrors edge or the loco roco game or warhawk. I'd make a poll but I"m pretty sure flower would win and folklore would be #2
