Forums - Sony - Games That Make Really Good Use of the Sixaxis Functionality

LAIR

It was ace, the way the naughty dragon would deliberately ignore or mis read your commands.

Lair uses it... Decently. The issue with lair is that the whole game is crappy. Crappy voice acting, crappy difficulty curve, crappy story told in a crappy way.. confusing enviroment. And the controls needed 1 mechanic. To be able to stop your dragon easily in midair .. Just stop op.
So actually I wouldn't recommend lair. Because all other aspects than the controls of it sucks.

Wait, did you even play Lair with the SIXAXIS controls?  It's pretty much unanimous that it's pretty much unplayable.  That's the whole reason it got such a low score and eventually got a patch.

There are some things that are opinions and completely up in the air like the Uncharted controls or LBP controls, but then there are just bad things like Lair.  You may like them, that doesn't make them good though.

Erm thats hardly a ringing endorsement of the power of six axis

Sony must of wished they hadnt bothered.

Folklore and Flower are the two major games that (i and many others here) used the Sixaxis functionality perfectly.

I think it's very well used in Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction as well, the laser mini-games and especially the flying sections.

For everyone who said Motorstorm. Try completing a race using sixaxis.

Even my girlfriend can do this and win.

More difficult but can be done with some practise. Becomes more tiring though.

MGS4 when on the codec with Rose...

Heavenly Sword, Forklore, Flower, and High Volocity Bowling are the best for sixaxis controls. Heavenly Sword in particular had one of the most amazing gameplay for the motion control in the level where you control Nariko's sister. All she has is a bow and you have to protect your father. As soon as you shoot the arrow, you control the controller and it goes in slow motion. I HIGHLY encourage everyone to at least rent the game and play that one level, as I only beat Heavenly Sword once, but I beat that level at least 20 times. :)

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

since flOwer and flOw have already been mentioned, I'll say inFamous, didn't like it in the Uncharted games.

Rag Doll Kung Fu has a respectable attempt.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
