I felt the same way. I mean the game was GoW III just reskined.
They even ripped off the Controlling the Cyclops part from GoW III, which sort of pissed me off.

When DMC came out, it kinda invented the subgenre that GoW, Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Dante's Inferno, the new 3d castlevania games, Rygar, and Bayonetta are in right now. Just joining that subgenre is in a way, ripping off DMC. Anyway, Dead Space was a direct ripoff of RE4, with a different premise, and that game was great. It wouldn't surprise me if DI differentiated itself enough for some people to actually prefer it to other games in that subgenre. |
complete crap .....
To some extent it is like saying DMC is a complete rip-off of others beat them all like Street of rage ou Double Dragon
Of course, GoW is another beat them all but it brought a lot of new stuff like his own pacing, gameplay, easy and brutal and a lot of cinematic QTE ... etc ...
At the opposite, Dante is using original settings and art style BUT borrow a LOT of things to GoW like :
- 2 button attack system
- rolling to avoid attack using right stick
- health/mana bar = gow
- fountain = chest of gow
- similar arean combo
- lot of QTE to finish enemies
- 1 guy fighting GODs
- gore
- girl showing their tits
- QTE finish
Time to Work !
its a bad thing!! because GoW ftw... lol i played dantes inferno demo and it didnt have the touch GoW had in its E3 demo which i got from the collection soo id go with GoW with the majority (not counting anybody who wants to trash the ps3)
What i find the most ridiculous, is that Dante has to break the Fountains!
i mean, Kratos breaks open a chest to get to his health or whatever, that does make some kind of sense.
but Dante breaks a Fountain! That doesn't make any sense at all, apart from being similar to GoW. A Fountain is something you drink from, the fluids are clearly visible! There is no need to break it to get to them.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
Played the Dante's Inferno, GoW III, and Bayonetta demos all within an hour. Lets just say, Dante's Inferno did not come out looking good. I'll prob pass on it.

It's incredible how much of a rip off this is. From the battle system, to some move animations, as well as the orb collection and even the bars on the top left looking eerily similar.

I know everyone here is annoyed that Dante's Inferno is ripping off GOW, but is it still a good game? If everything is exactly the same then it should still be good since God of War is a great game. If the quality is lowered like Conan then I could understand but as of right now no one had said it was bad except that it shamelessly rips off another game.
All those game play aspects below were pretty much what made Inferno feel far too much like God of War. I can see that I wasn't the only one here who felt like they were playing a mod of God of War with re-skinned resources and environments. Even the basic premise of challenging supernatural beings over the love of a lost wife was copied.
For some reason, I thought Inferno was going to be something other than a hack and slash, but if you're going to copy a formula, you may as well copy a proven formula (the best of its time) and port it to a platform that doesn't have God of War if the demand for the genre is there.
Personally, I couldn't see it as anything more than a poor substitute for GoWIII for those without PS3s, and given a choice between the two, Inferno comes off as looking a bit like a cheap knockoff compared to the revamped PS3 GoW game engine and visuals.

The demo was good, but the similarities were pretty blatant. I really couldn't recommend it to anyone who has a PS3 knowing that GoWIII, which by all early accounts is slated to be a far higher quality product, is right around the corner.
If you're totally dedicated to the Xbox brand for whatever reasons, yet still love what the GoW franchise has to offer, you should really enjoy Inferno.

the game was good because its like God Of War. (thats actually a good thing for it)
everything else is crappy, the voice acting (Death had the voice of a teen getting owned im serious), the graphics, the storyline will surely be good if they made it near the poem.
and the shock factor is VERY VERRRRRRYY forced. it sometimes ridicioulus and thats just the demo. god knows what awkward moments the full game will have.
