Everyone here is know how the next big games are old franchises. Zelda,Mario and Metroid.
Now tell me this. Why can't they make new franchises that can be big million sellers also.
They seem to only focus alot on old franchises moreso than the new ones. Just look at the
best selling wii games here made by nintendo here
than look at the DS here You can see that mose of the big sellers are old franchises. Now their
are some new ones. Nintendo did a grat job with the DS and seem to do better. The problem is
really on the wii. As you saw from the wii list. The highest selling games are from old franchises.
Just look. Punch out outsells all new franchises on the wii expect for endless ocen and Exite Truck
Its only 60k from outselling Exite Truck too! This is a NES franchise. All I can say is O_o. Though I like the
fact its a diffrent franchise that's not used much. Now I'm not saying this a bad thing. Its just a bad thing
long term. No the wii won't stop selling even in 2014 because of this. Just saying that relying on old franchises
and sticking tem till the end is bad. You need some new franchises to use sooner or later. If they have muiltiple
franchises they have alot of backup when times are tough. So I say keep old entries and build them. Though
also build new ones. This will help them long term.  (Also they are fine with the DS like I said before. Just do what you did there)
They could do 2 things revive old franchises or make new ones.Both are good.Now the usual. Where is my star fox/F zero sequal? And where is kirby?  Also don't come up with like 10 franchises a generation.
2-4 is fine. Who agees?

PS:We don't need them to be the next Pokemon. Just make it big like metroid  

Edit: I forgot the wii sereis. They should do somthing like that.

And BTW Excite Truck is a quite old franchise. (Excitebike from the NES remember?)

Looking through that list, the 1st 3 highest sellers are all froma new franchise!

For NOW. They won't sell good forever. (Maybe Mario.They can make Metriod and Zelda  too though they will have to be uptated a couple of times) 

They are investing in Endless Ocean, and quite wisely, it seems. Animal Crossing had its run, Pikmin is the only one really getting neglected. Hell, we've had 3 Excite games this gen, more than any other gen ever...

The issue is that they're not making too many new ones.

i kinda agree but you haven't mentioned any of the ones that you should have. Not excite truck, but excite bots needed to be pushed. Punch Out was advertised and will pass a million soon and probably get close to a 1.5 million LTD, not far from Metroid Prime 3.

There are games Nintendo hasn't pushed at all, and I'm pretty sure that's because they don't want to be known for certain games. They have a lot of stealth releases in Japan, games like Captain Rainbow obviously they weren't very proud of it. They probably just wanted to get some money back without ruining their image. Nintendo seems to be really calculated in this way.
