Forums - Nintendo - IGN Review: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles 2

Just watched the IGN review, and I think it looks sweet. Its a purchase for me.

I don't really understand the hate on the reviewer. Maybe IGN should diversify their staff and hire a child to review Wii games. There's a monstrous gap between what the Wii and traditional titles offer... that tradition can become pretty engrained if you've spent your entire life with those sorta titles.

I haven't played it and probably never will, but the reviews I've read seem to say the same thing: it's a point and click sorta adventure, with shoddy motion controls. If that's true (again, I haven't played it so I'm not saying it is), than the scores are justified. The primary mechanic that the game is built around doesn't even work properly.

It's all about the game.

Maybe IGN should have given this a high score, since this is a niche Wii game. Then they would have been a good review site.

oh don't worry, thats why we have vgchartz reviews..

The game looks bad, but I don't trust the since they gave Mario Bros Wii q"a 8.9
and they scored silent hill lower than 9.4

Silent Hill deserves 9.4 how??

Eveyrtime IGN gives a score people don't like, it's always "omgz, IGN lost all respects".... and then next week, IGN gives a favourable review for another game, it's all back to normal.

It gets tiresome sometimes. The truth is, the game is just not polish enough. If you want to buy it, buy it, IGN isn't telling you to not buy a game.

Not speaking for others, but I've been losing trust in reviews in general since it was openly stated reviewers were being flown over to play Halo 3 (I haven't played it, so don't know how good it is, but the principle is what matters here). Then IGN in particular since the recent Wii hate moments.

So that's why I personally am taking this review with a huge grain of salt.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I haven't played Crystal Bearers, perhaps the review is right, perhaps it is wrong. But no well informed Wii gamer trusts ign anymore, same with most other multiplattform gaming website. I stuck to Wii-only-websites.

Just beat this game and I can saw without a doubt they didn't even beat this game, its not a 25 hour game... I beat it in about 12 with me messing around getting stuck and just casually playing.

Does anyone even fact check Bozon anymore? This is starting to get ridiculous.

Aww.. only 12 hours? That sucks, one of the few games that made me play it for 2 hours in a row (yeah, i usually play for a few minutes a time) is so short? I hope there's SOME replayability so i can play it again ^^

Yeah you can do the new game plus and there's a lot of side things to do for endless amounts of time.

Also he says Chocobo racing is great, he lies, its annoying and stupid lol but there's many other side games to play that are a lot more fun.

Wow. SE spent 4 years on ~12 hours of content?

I'm sorry...........that fu**in sucks. They didn't kknow if they wanted it to be a light-gun shooter, a strict chocobo racing game, a Psi-ops ripoff, or an open-world Zelda. So they threw all of it in at once and got  little bits and pieces of working material that overall amount to nothing remarkable.

Sure, some stuff is replayable, but with a core story that is less than 8 hours long, that is terrible.

That's according to some, and some claim that's only if you rush it and skip some things. I'd still have to try it myself to be sure.

hmm painful voice acting, spending too much time playing mundane mini-games instead of questing, underdeveloped battle system ........... this vaguely resembles FFX........

let 's hope NA and EU sales won 't be like JP sales and IGN 'S REVIEW

Unfortunately for Square-Enix, they will.

unfortuntely?  horrible sales for a game that needed more polish is a good thing.  I'm hoping S-E sees the sales, and rethinks their strategy.  put out a few high-quality titles a year, rather than a slew of poor ones.  the brand used to stand for so much more than it does today, and it's a shame because when they actually want to they can still put out great games.

This is why we praise gems like The World Ends With You when we get them.

I stand corrected. It is 'greater' than Twilight Princess.

IGNore Bozon at all costs. Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers is better than Twilight Princess.

I think Crystal Bearers is a pretty enjoyable game so far (I'm about 3 hours in) but it does have camera problems and is nowhere near as good as Twilight Princess.
